Discrimination is real
One(no name mentioned or privacy) is at a senior position at a top educational institution in Saskatchewan. He is currently pursuing his PhD, is happily married and is a Canadian citizen. Yet, the 40-year-old Pakistani-born immigrant is all set to leave Canada for good in 2013.
There is a study that shows that 40% of immigrants who entered Canada in the skilled worker or business class left Canada within their first 10 years.
A previous study by Statistics Canada indicated that one-third of male immigrants (aged 25 to 45 at the time of landing) left Canada within 20 years after arrival. More than half of those who left did so within the first year of arrival.

Someone else claims that his work has been constantly nitpicked, he was stared at during meetings (which in his words comprised of all “white folks”) and on one occasion was completely sidelined when his boss was on leave. “I hold the second most senior position in my organization, but I don’t think I will ever be made director here. They [the management] completely ignored the fact that I was supposed to be made acting director,” he says. He, who was on a committee of the British Columbia Human Resources Management Association (BCHRMA), says that what he heard at a committee hearing about hiring immigrants in Canada shocked him. “Major Canadian multinationals in B.C. are on record saying that immigrants cannot express themselves well in interviews and therefore it is difficult to consider them for senior positions. I found that ridiculous. There are plenty of well-educated professionals who come to Canada, even get themselves accredited to suit Canadian standards and yet fail to reach their full potential because of the discriminatory attitude of employers. I don’t think I can tolerate such behaviour anymore,” he says. Mir admits that he will miss the pristine beauty of Canada and the clean air, but it is a very small price to pay when it comes to being professionally satisfied.

Someone else who lived in scenic Washington State in the United States. But his daughter’s educational prospects prompted the successful marketing professional to move bag and baggage to Vancouver in 2004. Though he was employed immediately, something was missing. “The salaries in Canada are abysmal. I do not mean to compare, but the difference in compensation is just too much. In Switzerland I was being paid about $350 an hour, and in Canada I started at $20 an hour. It is not about the amount, but a huge blow to one’s self-confidence,” he says. This was due to his lack of Canadian experience !!!!!!!!!!
But he did not give up and applied everywhere for a better position with better wages. He tried enlisting the support of a mentor through an immigration support program in Victoria and also applied for government positions. “I applied for quite a few jobs, and got a total of two interviews. Two! With both positions I came in second; in one position they clearly preferred a Canadian with more Canadian experience and they even told me to my face: ‘She [the winning candidate] knows someone at the Globe and Mail.’ I did not stand a chance, did I?” he says.
Besides his claim that the skilled worker program is misleading, the other form of bias that he feels is rampant is age discrimination. He has been told that he was not in the preferred age group for a particular job, despite his experience. Add to that the constant rejections due to his educational credentials and he had had enough. He is leaving Canada for good this spring.

What will you bring to our company? another silly questions; you advertised and I applied that simple looking for better chances
2- You send a resume and no answer, mostly they are having an internal hire that they are favoring or just collecting data for future use or perhaps it is a fake job opportunity
3- You arrive in time and they come late; simply because they are the one who will not get the blame
4- They talk too much and give you questions with YES/NO answers just to fill in the spaces. Again they are favoring someone else
5- They quickly finish the interview and ask simple questions again just to fill in the spaces because they are favoring internal hiring
6- They do other things while they are interviewing you
7- No feedback, they just dump you and they do not even care to send you an email that will cost them nothing telling you that they wish you a better chance
8- Silly picky; they favor someone just because they have experience 21 years instead of 20; or perhaps if these fine people, I can even get better than them or perhaps with less money
9- Bad attitude; like they do not look to you while they are speaking or asking questions
10- They give false or misleading reasons for not selecting you, like you did not answer all questions; you did not understand the questions
The Different Planes of Existence in the Universe
Various configurations of energy are where we need to be to explain the difference between a physical and a nonphysical universe. The energy in the nonphysical universe is much less dense than in a physical universe. So, on a nonphysical plane, you have much more freedom in manipulating energy. This increased freedom may mean that a nonphysical person can have seemingly superhuman powers and abilities; but, in actuality, that nonphysical person is just using modes of operation that are native to that environment. For example, disappearing from one place and reappearing in another is a normal occurrence on the nonphysical; however it would turn quite a few heads in the physical. Put simply, your physical body and the physical matter in the physical universe is just too compact for such a maneuver.
Below are the various levels or planes contained in and around the Earth. These planes are arranged from most dense (physical) to the least dense (spiritual).
In reality each of these planes exist one on top of the other. It is merely the focus of your consciousness that determines what plane you are aware of at any given time. It’s like a radio. Coming into the radio are all the channels at once. The tuning knob determines which one of the many stations you are going to listen to. With these planes of existence your consciousness is that tuning knob and right now it is tuned into the physical station. Let’s continue with the basic understanding of the nonphysical universe and examine each of these planes individually.
The Physical Plane
– Energy is limited to the speed of light.
– Objects and things are solid.
– Events are ordered by tine.
– Space Maintains constant structure.
– A physical type universe.
The densest plane is the physical plane. Here matter is as solid as it can get. The energetic structure of this plane only allows particles to travel up to the speed of light, but not passed it. This environment is the one you are presently in. You are most familiar with the physical plane on a conscious level.
The Etheric Plane
– Energy is limited to the speed of light.
– Objects and things are solid.
– Time is not entirely consistent here.
– Space is not entirely consistent here.
– A nonphysical type universe.
Going from bottom up, in decreasing density, brings us to the etheric plane. This plane just qualifies as a nonphysical universe because time and space begin to be inconsistent here. If you were standing in the etheric plane and looking at the room, you may notice that the chair you threw out yesterday is still here, and the chair you will buy tomorrow is here as well. The room may also be larger, smaller, or even reversed. You see! The room alters its properties and both chairs exist simultaneously because time and space are beginning to show their true fluid-like natures. However despite its apparent freedom from the constraints of time and space, the etheric plane remains governed by many of the rules of a physical universe. Due to its close proximity to the physical plane, objects are still solid in nature, and energy is still limited to the speed of light. The true freedom of a nonphysical environment can only be seen above the etheric level.
The Astral Plane
– Energy travels beyond the speed of light but is still limited.
– Objects and things are NOT solid.
– Non-time ordering of events. Events ordered by emotions.
– Space constantly changes. no consistency.
– A nonphysical type universe.
The next less dense plane is known as the astral plane. The astral plane is the first true nonphysical dimension. Objects and walls are no longer solid, and you can pass through them very easily. Energy travels many times faster than the speed of light – though it still has a maximum speed threshold. Time is often very chaotic. For example, if you were standing in the astral plane and looking at the room, you may see a chair that your great-grandfather used to sit in. Then, for no apparent reason the chair may change into a television set. Then the room itself may dissolve and you may be standing on a grassy field. This fluid-like nature of the astral plane is quite common and a normal part of its operation. Here, time merges. The moment-to-moment reality that you are so familiar with does not exist. People and things are connected, not by the sequence of time, but by the intensity of the emotions connecting them. For example, your great- grandfather may have felt the same way about his favorite chair as you do about your television, and both of those items spark similar feelings within each of you: the feeling of standing in a grassy field. Do you see why the scene changed as it did? No matter, if you did not.
The Mental (Buddhic) Plane
– Energy has no speed limit. It can jump from one place to another.
– Objects and things do not stay in any one shape or appearance.
– Non-time ordering of events. Events ordered by concepts.
– Space is defined by the distance between concepts.
– A nonphysical type universe.
Another notch up on the decreasing density scale brings us to the mental plane. This plane too is of a nonphysical type. Energy here moves in a way that is beyond the concept of speed. Energy (or objects) can instantaneously jump from one place to another and appear in two or more places at once. Objects in the mental plane begin to lose their cohesiveness. Also, objects appearing here no longer represent objects. They instead represent ideas. If you were standing in the mental plane and looking at the room a chair may look quite normal one moment, and in the next, may grow to three times its size. Next you may find yourself sitting inside that huge chair and looking down at your room at the same time that you look down at the earth. The mental plane is the dimension of ideas. Here the idea is more important then any physical type of stability. In this example, these series of events may seem chaotic from in physical standpoint; however from an idea standpoint, they make perfect sense. The idea being conveyed could imply that as you grow you will become the master of your world. Here in the mental plane space, size, and distance are only important in how they shed perspectives on things.
The Spirit (Atmic) Plane
– Energy has no pattern at all. It can do anything.
– Objects, people, and things do not exist in form.
– No time or space ordering.
– A dimension of the soul, of connections to one another.
– A nonphysical type universe.
The last plane we will examine is known as the plane of spirit. This plane is completely nonphysical in nature. Energy follows no recognizable pattern and its movement is in the form of a constantly changing state of being. Objects do not exist as objects. Form as you know it is gone. Time and space are irrelevant. This plane is a dimension of consciousness. If you stood in the room while being focused on the spirit plane, there would be no room. There would only be your consciousness. You would have no physical like body, nor would you be able to create any such physically related item or thing. What you could create and experience here is relationships. You can meet with others and intermingle with their pure thoughts, emotions, and energy. There is no need for words or language here. In this place, everyone knows everyone else. In this dimension, your thoughts, emotions, and energy would possess a consciousness of their own, independent of you, yet part of you. The spiritual plane is the most alien to regular physical existence because existence here does not depend on shape or form. You are who you are because of who you are, not because of the constructions that surround you.

Now, sitting on/or across some of these planes are various dimensions. When I speak of dimensions, I’m speaking of areas of the nonphysical plane that are part of one or more planes of existence. For example, the dream dimension and the probability dimension both run through four separate planes of existence: the etheric, the astral, mental, and the spiritual planes. And, while both of these dimensions cross the same four planes, both of these dimensions are separate. It’s like two interstate highways running through the same four states. Each road is going in a similar direction; however, what you are liable to find or meet while on each of those roads will vary. And, as roads tend to take on their own unique style and appearance, different dimensions have different qualities to them.
Examining these planes helps to acquaint you with the various properties of each plane. In this way you can understand the seemingly chaotic nature of the environment when you actually encounter it yourself. Properties that are common on one plane are not so common on another. Each plane has its own purpose. No one plane is necessarily better than another, but all these planes are necessary to some extent, for consciousness to exist and grow in its evolution.
As you move through and into these less rarefied realities, you will need more control over your consciousness to take advantage of the benefits, learning, and information from that plane.

Grover ClevelandGrover Cleveland is best known as the only president in history to be elected for two non-sequential terms. During his first electoral campaign in 1884 information was released that he previously had an affair with a widow named Maria C. Halpin who had given birth to a son. She claimed that Cleveland was the father and named him Oscar Folsom Cleveland. Cleveland agreed to pay child support and then paid to put the child in an orphanage when she was no longer fit to raise him. Unusual for a candidate mired in such a scandal Cleveland admitted guilt in the matter. Chants of “Ma, ma, where’s my pa? Off to the White House, ha ha ha!” became popular throughout the country, but it did not stop Cleveland from getting elected. He was honest about the entire affair. This helped rather than hurt him, and elected again in 1892.
9. Petticoat Affair

This is often forgotten but at the time major scandal under the presidency of Andrew Jackson, one of the most famous presidents in United States history. Although it started over a private matter, it affected the political careers of several men and resulted in the informal “Kitchen Cabinet”. It began with the marriage of Jackson’s secretary of war, John Henry Eaton, to recently widowed Margaret Timberlake, whose husband had committed suicide. The marriage proved a great scandal in American high society, with rumors that Eaton had been having an affair with Timberlake which led to her first husband’s suicide. Most of Jackson’s cabinet turned against Eaton but Jackson supported him, and the controversy led to such a conflict that almost Jackson’s entire cabinet resigned over the issue. The 1936 film The Gorgeous Hussy is based on the affair.
8. Marilyn Monroe and the J.F. Kennedy

7. Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemmings
Thomas Jefferson and Sally HemmingsThomas Jefferson’s alleged relationship with Sally Hemmings was the first presidential s.x scandal in the United States and prompted a discussion that continues to this day. In 1802 Jefferson was charged with having an affair with his slave, Sally Hemmings, and in fact fathering a child. Jefferson denied the charges and remained as president for another 7 years, however the debate about the truth of the matter continued until 1998 when DNA testing proved that Jefferson more than likely fathered at least one of Sally Hemming’s children.

The Credit Mobilier company was found to be stealing from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1868. However, they tried to cover this up by selling stocks in their company at a large discount to government officials and Congress members including Vice President Schuyler Colfax. When this was discovered, it hurt many reputations including that of Ulysses S. Grant’s VP. The story was broken by the New York newspaper, The Sun, during the 1872 presidential campaign, when S. Grant was running for re-election. The scandal’s origins dated back to the Abraham Lincoln presidency, when the Union Pacific Railroad was chartered in 1864 by the federal government and the associated Crédit Mobilier was established.
5. The Whiskey Ring
Ulysses S. GrantGrant’s presidency is often considered to be one of the most corrupt in history, and with good reason, as two major scandals took place during his presidency. The second was the Whiskey Ring scandal, involving a bribery and tax evasion scandal among many high ranking members of his cabinet (and even his own private secretary) and whiskey distillers. In 1875, it was revealed that many government employees were pocketing whiskey taxes. Grant called for swift punishment but caused further scandal when he moved to protect his personal secretray who had been implicated in the affair.
4. Iran-Contra

During the Reagan administration, senior administration officials secretly facilitated the sale of arms to Iran, the subject of an arms embargo. Several individuals in Ronald Reagan’s administration were implicated in the Iran-Contra Scandal. Basically, money that had been obtained through selling arms to Iran was given secretly to the revolutionary Contras in Nicaragua. Other than helping the Contras, the hope was that by selling the weapons to Iran, terrorists would be more willing to give up hostages. This scandal resulted in major Congressional hearings.

Committee investigating the Teapot Dome oil leases in 1924Warren G. Harding’s presidency was struck by many scandals. The Teapot Dome scandal was the most significant. Harding transferred control of naval oil reserve lands over to the Department of the Interior in 1921 (although it was later reversed by the Supreme Court, who ruled the move illegal). Then Secretary of the Interior Albert B. Fall used his new power for personal gain, giving rights to the Teapot Dome Reserve in Wyoming to the Mammoth Oil company in return for bribes. When the scandal broke in 1924 he was found to have accumulated over $100,000 worth of bribes from the Mammoth Oil Company, among others. Although Harding had already died in office prior to the scandal breaking, it became a hot topic of controversy for years after his death and continues to plague his now infamous legacy. Before the Watergate scandal, Teapot Dome was regarded as the “greatest and most sensational scandal in the history of American politics”.
2. Watergate Scandal
The Watergate complex in Washington, D.CThere may be many scandals in the annals of United States presidential history, but none can compare for sheer impact with that of the Watergate scandal under the presidency of Richard M. This was a political scandal that occurred in the 1970s as a result of the June 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C., and the Nixon administration’s attempted cover-up of its involvement. The scandal eventually led to the resignation of Richard Nixon, on August 9, 1974, the only resignation of a U.S. President. The scandal also resulted in the indictment, trial, conviction and incarceration of 43 people, including dozens of Nixon’s top administration officials.
1. Lewinsky Scandal

Perhaps no other scandal in presidential history can equal the Monica Lewinsky affair for pure sensationalism and absurdity. Bill Clinton was implicated in a couple of scandals, the most significant for his presidency was the Monica Lewinsky affair. Lewinsky was a White House staffer with whom Clinton had an intimate relationship. He had previously denied this while giving a deposition in another case which resulted in a vote to impeach him by the House of Representatives in 1998. The Senate did not vote to remove him from office but the event did mar his presidency as he joined Andrew Johnson as only the second president to be impeached.

1. Encourage your clients to get social with you!
Geofilters are perfect for your clients and guests to do some promotion for you. If you have an event, create a few geofilters that will be available for the event. You do have to design your own and pay for them, but they are extremely user friendly and will not break the bank. Not only will it expose your brand to your guests’ followers, but also those in the area will be able to access the filter and it will get your name out there. For a more permanent geofilter, you can allow your office to have a geofilter, so your visitors can show off your beautiful office!
2. Give your audience a behind-the-scenes look.
Snapchat was created to give your followers a look into your life through your point of view. So give the people what they want! Whether it’s showing them a tour of the office, a BTS of setting up an event, or goofy times with your team, use this platform to show your personality. People love authenticity, so keep it real, but fun.
3. Get user input.
While you can always use the good old-fashioned survey, those have become a little outdated and they aren’t exactly convenient for the on-the-go consumer. Instead, keep it simple and use Snapchat to get user input. Followers can snap or chat you directly, but if you want to take a poll, do it through your story. Share a snap explaining what is to come, and then share the options asking them to screenshot their favorite. What you’ll get is instant feedback!
4. Rewarding those who follow.
I love the quote “Invest in those who invest in you.” With all of your loyal followers, be sure to reward them. Give them exclusive promo codes or first looks/sneak peeks into your upcoming projects that you normally wouldn’t share on Facebook or Instagram. It will be gone in 24 hours and will be special for your Snapchat followers.
Social media platforms are the best way to gain free marketing, so take use them to your advantage. Get familiarized with the apps and the tools you can use to maximize the service. Implement these methods and you’re already on your way to becoming the next Snapchat King or Queen.
That would make it the second most-expensive hurricane on record.A hurricane threatening the first direct hit on the United States in more than a decade could cause insurance losses of $25-30 billion and be the second costliest U.S. hurricane on record for insurers, according to initial industry estimates.
Hurricane Matthew is just off the east coast of Florida near Cape Canaveral, the National Hurricane Center said in an advisory on Friday, after killing hundreds of people in Haiti on its move north through the Caribbean.
Data modelling firm RMS told clients earlier this week its initial estimates were a 42% chance of a $20 billion insurance loss and a 26% chance of a $30 billion loss from the hurricane, a source familiar with the research said.
Ben Brookes, vice president capital markets at RMS told Reuters its guidance to clients was based on a single forecast, adding: “to project impact from this alone would be misleading”.
“We have continued to update our guidance as the situation changes,” Brookes said, without giving further details.

An estimate from Kinetic Analysis of insured losses of $25 billion would make Matthew “the second most costly hurricane in U.S. history behind Katrina”, JPMorgan analysts said in a note late Thursday, referring to the hurricane which hit New Orleans and the surrounding coast in 2005.
A Kinetic Analysis spokesman said its $25 billion estimate was made on Thursday and its current estimate was “considerably lower”, without giving further detail.
Market participants were keeping a close track on the hurricane’s movements.
“People are looking at this literally every minute and working overnight on it,” one trader said.
The average impact to U.S. property and casualty insurers’ book value from $10-30 billion of insured losses from the hurricane would equate to around a quarter’s worth of earnings, the JPMorgan analysts added.
Heritage Insurance Holdings gave a preliminary loss estimate on Friday of around $500 million.
A $20 billion insured loss would match the insured losses caused by Hurricane Sandy in the northeast of the United States in 2012, which did not make landfall. A loss of this size would lead to “material risks” for Lloyd’s of London insurers, analyst Ben Cohen at Canaccord Genuity said in a note on Friday.
Cohen calculated a loss equivalent to Sandy would hit Beazley’s earnings by $104 million, Hiscox’s by 117 million pounds ($145 million) and Lancashire’s by $39 million.
Beazley estimates an $80 billion storm would cause a $200 million loss, a spokesman said, without specifying losses from a smaller disaster.
A Hiscox spokeswoman said it was too early to judge the impact of the hurricane.
A Lancashire spokesman also said it was early days, but the firm was feeling “relatively relaxed” about its losses because it was very lightly exposed to risk in Florida compared with other states in which it offers reinsurance for wind damage.
The hurricane represented a “real test” of reinsurers’ exposure, S&P Globalsaid in a report, but it did not see a ratings impact, due to reinsurers’ strong capital buffers.
In her secret speeches to Wall Street bankers, Hillary Clinton backed free trade and claimed politicians need leeway to make backroom deals — and may have disclosed classified details of the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, according to the latest emails disclosed by WikiLeaks.
The emails also revealed that back in 2015, the Clinton campaign strategized about ways to elevate Donald Trump and other “extreme” Republicans — as “Pied Piper” candidates who would ultimately be so “unpalatable,” they’d help her win.
These “Pied Piper” candidates also included Ted Cruz and Ben Carson, according to the email, sent to the Democratic National Committee on April 7, 2015.
The email goes on to advise the DNC to “Force all Republican candidates to lock themselves into extreme conservative positions that will hurt them in the general election.”
Other emails disclosing the content of her speeches to bankers and business groups show Clinton revealing insider details of how bin Laden was targeted.
“I was in the small group that recommended to the president that he go after bin Laden,” Clinton said in a 2013 speech to a Toronto business organization.
She went on: “The amount of work that was required to get a strong-enough basis of information on which to plan took more than a decade . . . and then all of a sudden putting this matrix together and saying, ‘This guy used to protect bin Laden — he has just made a phone call. He said this in the phone call. We need to figure out where he is. Then we need to follow him.’
“And that is how we found this compound in Abbottabad [Pakistan]” — where a team of Navy SEALs took out bin Laden in May 2011.
WikiLeaks asked in a tweet if Clinton’s comments revealed too much about the bin Laden hunt by mentioning the phone calls.
It’s unclear whether Clinton’s story was classified. But what she said in Toronto varies from other accounts of how the United States determined bin Laden’s whereabouts.
Many reports of the time said the United States was tipped to bin Laden’s location by a Pakistani intelligence officer; other reports say Washington tracked him down with extensive surveillance.
The leaked trove of emails from Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s account also features damning evidence of major flip-flops and doublespeak from the former secretary of state.
The leaked Clinton comment that most captured the imagination of social media Saturday came from an April 2013 speech to the National Multifamily Housing Council. Clinton said politicians must balance “both a public and a private position” while making deals.
“It is unsavory, and it always has been that way, but we usually end up where we need to be,” Clinton said. “But if everybody’s watching, you know, all of the backroom discussions and the deals, you know, then people get a little nervous, to say the least. So, you need both a public and a private position.”
The full transcripts of the speeches were not released. But WikiLeaks included a document of excerpts from the speeches that Clinton’s campaign flagged as potential political trouble.
In a talk to a Brazilian bank in 2013, Clinton said her “dream” is “a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders,” and asked her audience to think of what doubling American trade with Latin America “would mean for everybody in this room.”
Trump, her Republican opponent, has made opposition to trade deals that he says hurt American workers a cornerstone of his campaign.
Clinton’s onetime opponent for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Bernie Sanders, also was vocal in his objection to trade deals, and pushed Clinton to denounce support for the Trans Pacific Partnership.

The leaks came from roughly 2,050 emails sent to and from Podesta, who is also a former chief of staff to President Bill Clinton.
WikiLeaks claimed to have up to 10,000 emails.
“We have published 1 percent of the #PodestaEmails so far,” WikiLeaks tweeted Saturday.
“Additional publications will proceed throughout the election period.”
Podesta has said some of the leaked emails may have been altered or faked. He is not confirming or denying their contents.
