Nico Rosberg says the pressure of fighting for his first Formula One title meant
he was not performing at his best at the final four races of the season.
Lonnie Chisenhall Jersey .After winning the
Japanese Grand Prix in early October, Rosberg could afford to end his season
with three second place finishes and one third and still be crowned 2016
champion regardless of where title rival Lewis Hamilton finished. With Mercedes
healthy advantage over the rest of the field, the championship was effectively
Rosbergs to lose but, despite some close calls, he emerged with four second
places behind Hamilton at the final four races..As the each round unfolded
Rosberg insisted he was still taking it one race at a time, but speaking after
the season finale in Abu Dhabi he admitted he was feeling the pressure. The last
couple of races, that was not the real Nico, he said. The pressure slows you
down but I am happy to come through the way that I did while on the other side
Lewis had nothing to lose.Rosberg said he kept his answers to the media short
and simple in the hope the press would not make his championship campaign any
more difficult than it had to be.I dont change what I said, please respect that
you are a powerful entity and I needed to get through this. Im sure you
understand that. And in the past few races it is the best Lewis we have ever
seen because he had no pressure, super motivated, super concentrated and working
as hard as ever.He had nothing to lose when I had the pressure as I was the one
in front and had something to lose. That definitely made it more difficult so I
am glad it worked out.

14 Pain Issue. Subscribe today!BROKEN LEG, NO big deal: clean line through the
tibia. A Chargers defensive back landed on me in the end zone. Didnt feel like
much, just a little click in my ankle. I jogged to the sideline, and one of my
Broncos teammates ran on for me. Theres always someone ready to run on.You OK? a
coach asked. I think so, I said, and tried to walk it off, then sat on the
bench. The game ended, and I limped across the field toward the locker room, my
cleats scraping the concrete in the dilapidated bowels of San Diegos Qualcomm
Stadium.Pain does not deter an NFL player. It lights the way.Every hit induces
pain; the very essence of football is to submit your opponent through force. You
learn very early that football is pain, that humans covered in metal and hard
plastic colliding at top speed is going to hurt. But America rewards the boys
who act as if it doesnt. So hit me again! Harder! Thats how you climb the
football ladder: one lie at a time. The Broncos put me on injured reserve the day
after I broke my leg, ending my 2004 season. Someone handed me a few bottles of
pain meds and anti-inflammatories. Make sure you finish these, they said. They
only work if you finish them. I was still a young player in the NFL and hadnt
yet started to question the protocol, so I ate all of my pills like a good boy,
and I disappeared into the dark world of rehab. This is how it starts. My team
was on a playoff run. I was on Percocet.Next season, the team moved me to tight
end and I had to gain weight: 25 pounds in three months. By June, I had my new
body. I still knew how to run like a receiver, but my frame couldnt support the
new torque. In training camp, I pulled my right hamstring, high up near my
tailbone. No time to be hurt, though. I was trying to make the team at a new
position. The pain was manageable, but it wasnt healing fast enough. I looked
around the training room, littered with broken bodies and sad men hopping around
on one foot, hooked up to machines. I had to get out of there. I expressed my
anxiousness to the training staff -- and out came the needles. Two injections of
Kenalog into the hamstring attachment, chased with another bottle of pills, and
I was back on the field.I made the team, but the hamstring never fully healed
and I spent most of the 2005 season on the bench. Come the next April, we were
back at it. Pills before practice and a Toradol shot before every game. Toradol
is a powerful anti-inflammatory that dulls the pain. It was our Superman juice.
A crew of us lined up the night before games. We needed our capes. But nothing
comes for free. We would all pay the price in the days that followed, and
possibly for the rest of our lives. Toradol thins the blood. Players who filed
class actions alleging misuse of the drug say it worsened the effect of
cooncussions, among other things.
Manny Ramirez Jersey. In 2007, my groin
muscle popped off the bone on a kickoff. Thwap! At the hospital, blood was
extracted from my arm and put in a centrifuge. Then it was injected back into
the muscle attachment, a procedure called platelet-rich plasma injection, or
PRP. I went on injured reserve and -- just like that -- my season was over.
Percocet again followed, along with his trusty sidekick, depression. But I was
older now, and I knew what was waiting at the bottom of that bottle: addiction.
I watched it eat up my friends. So instead of diving back into the black river
of pills, I decided to exercise the green option. I took no pills. I only
inhaled can-nabis, and I healed quickly and com-pletely, through optimistic
rehabilitation sessions and $100 worth of marijuana. During practice in Week 12
of my sixth and final season, the same problematic hamstring finally popped off
the bone. Thwap! Season over, career soon to follow. A month or so later, I was
fired by the Broncos new head coach, Josh McDaniels. His assistant left a
message on the answering machine at my parents house. There are no happy endings
to this story.Im now seven years removed from football. Recently, I was at the
gym and feeling good. Sometimes when Im lifting weights, the blood starts
flowing and I taste it again: the Immortal Man.Well, the Immortal Man put 225
pounds on his back and did a set of squats. I felt something jam in the lower
spine, and the next day I could hardly walk. Sleeping was difficult. No position
was comfortable. I have scar tissue along my lower spine, compressed disks,
swollen and inflamed, that will never go away. The difference now is that I get
to choose how to treat it. No one hands me an orange bottle. No one puts a
needle in my back. Pills might kill the pain, but cannabis reframes it, allowing
a speedier recovery and a more complete understanding of the injury. The
propensity to kill the pain outright has helped create a dishonest relationship
between a players body and the game of football. I guess some would argue that
the NFLs approach to pain management works. Look how popular the sport is, after
all. Look at the revenue. But in the process, the NFL turns some of the
strongest members of our species into pill-popping hospital patients. We shouldnt
forget about the human beings -- our brothers, fathers, husbands and sons -- who
breathe life into an industry fueled by pain and sacrifice. We all end up broken
in the end.Nate Jacksons memoir, Slow Getting Up: A Story of NFL Survival From
the Bottom of the Pile, was published in 2013. His latest book, Fantasy Man: A
Former NFL Players Descent Into the Brutality of Fantasy Football, was published
by HarperCollins in September.

through, beyond the barricade.
Saucony Shoes Deals . This is the Dhaka term
for a motorcade that is given high priority in traffic and the one that is about
to pass through, the England cricket team convoy, is of the highest
importance. It starts with an advanced team of police packed in pick-up trucks,
followed by similar vehicles containing a Rapid Action Battalion and then the
convoy starts with a long line with two buses in the middle. It is followed by
more armed security men and women, a couple of minibuses, and then a fire
brigade truck to round off.The convoy of about 10 to 12 different type of
vehicles speeds through the emptied 8 km path from the Radisson hotel to the
Shere Bangla National Stadium. The scene was similar in Chittagong where the
roads at times were narrower than Dhakas. The most convenient location, of
course, was the 20 yards the players walked to cross the road from the
Chittagong hotel to the MA Aziz Stadium for Englands practice matches. But the
longest the convoy had to travel was from their Dhaka hotel to the Fatullah
Cricket Stadium which was 25km cutting right through Dhakas main artery from
north to south. This was the scene for more than four weeks. Crowds waited
patiently in front of every alleyway and street leading to the main road that
connects the team hotel and stadium. It was inconvenient for hundreds of
thousands of people, who were backlogged in various traffic jams linked to the
convoys movement.Security was the most critical end of the bargain for England
touring Bangladesh, and it was settled in mid-August when the ECB gave the
go-ahead for the tour after a comprehensive security inspection****If the
adjudicators of the man-of-the-series award took a wider view of events leading
up to Englands tour of Bangladesh, Mehedi Hasan and Ben Stokes would have found
competition coming from Reg Dickason, the ECBs director of security management.
Although he says that it wasnt his job to convince the England players to tour
Bangladesh, it was Dickasons iron-clad assurance that encouraged the ECB to give
the green signalI didnt have to convince them, it wasnt my job Dickason told
ESPNcricinfo. The awareness was heightened by the terrible attack on July 1.
Where we travel throughout the world theres potential for such an attack as is
shown in Germany, Belgium and France. Bangladesh was no different. From our
point of view, it didnt really materially change the programme that we were
going to put around the team.He said that Bangladeshs track record of delivering
security as promised helped in building trust for Englands tour.History of
previous performance definitely comes into play. Everyone is always well
intentioned. I think what we have to establish is the ability of the organisers
to do what they have said. A lot of trust came from the U-19 World Cup.The main
purpose of the risk assessment for the Under-19 World Cup was to see if the
event was safe to go ahead, and we deemed that it was. We came out here to see
what the BCB and the government was actually going to provide. It went very
well. They did everything they said they were going to do, said Dickason.Like
most places in Dhaka after the July 1 terrorist attack in Gulshan, the BCB
headquarters in Mirpur came under heightened security. The following month,
Dickason, ECBs director of cricket operations John Carr and PCA chief executive
David Leatherdale travelled to Bangladesh for the inspection. We met with the BCB
and the local police, intelligence agencies, three overseas diplomatic missions
and finally the Prime Minister. So based on what we were told and what we had
witnessed in the U-19 World Cup, we had some degree of confidence we decided
that this tour should go ahead and that was the recommendation, said Dickason. So
on September 30, was Dickason nervous when the plane carrying the England
players landed in Dhaka? I wasnt nervous but I am always concerned. I am
conservative by nature. It is a fairly heavy responsibility with peoples
safety. We got out just before the team. With the help of the BCB, we made sure
things would be done exactly the way they said it would. It was done that way.
In all of our tours we pplan for worst, hope for the best - thats the underlying
methodology, he said.
Cheap Saucony Shoes Store. ****You can
understand why a player might think the security issues would disrupt their
focus. Its not that there is any apparent hole in the cordon; its more that you
can never escape a reminder of the need for it. When they open their curtains in
the morning, they see armed police preventing cars from approaching the hotel.
When they open their hotel door, they have armed police patrolling the landing.
If they look up at training, they see a marksman on the roof of every adjacent
building. The hotels are very good, but some of the players have been here a
month and they arent allowed out. At every moment you are reminded: there have
been threats; there is an issue. Focusing all your concentration on the ball at
such moments might well be difficult. The most remarkable aspect of this is the
convoy. Every time the team (and accompanying media) need to go anywhere, the
roads are cleared and closed, a cordon of several hundred police line the route
to ensure pedestrians cannot approach and a convoy of buses, people carriers,
fire trucks and heavily-armed swat teams drive as quickly as possible past
bewildered - and presumably frustrated - onlookers. Thats not as easy as it
sounds: some of the roads are poor and the speed bumps in these parts are
viciously effective. So, in both Chittagong and Dhaka, there are moments when
the convoy slows to a crawl. Those points on the journey are especially well
patrolled by army and police personnel, with the swat team vehicles driving
alongside the team bus to ensure that anyone trying to reach the players will
have to go through them first. The most dangerous it ever felt was when an
over-zealous driver has struggled to stop. With no seat belts in the van, it is
fair to say he gave the Test Match Special team - and your ESPNcricinfo
correspondent - a bit of a wake-up.Generally, though, it felt well organised and
safe. And, once you try and venture out on your own (a 5kms journey took two
hours in a taxi one night), you realise the benefits of the escort. England have
been looked after exceptionally well.****Dickason observed that despite the
heightened security provided in Bangladesh which he called gold standard, it
would probably not be similar in other cricketing destinations.I dont think it
is a one-size fits all. Risk tolerance in different countries varies. I have
been in international sport for 20 years and the road closures in Dhaka and
Chittagong and the government input is as good as I have ever seen.I dont know
if this will be standard but it is certainly the gold standard at the moment. I
dont know if it will be rolled out in tours in places where the perception of
risk and the actual risk is a little bit lower, he said.England staying in
Bangladesh for the full tour has been a major boost for the BCB. A visit from
Sean Carroll, Cricket Australias head of security, last week was the first sign
that Australia are actively thinking of visiting Bangladesh next August. We have
been very happy with the level of security. Each country will have their list of
criteria. Sean Carroll is a very competent chap in his field. He is having a
close look at things and will make a recommendation to his board, said
Dickason. What has also been encouraging is the sensitivity shown by the touring
side to the sacrifices made by the people who get caught up the convoys
movement. I think it is a sacrifice. We have probably inconvenienced them. Our
players were very conscious of that, and we were always on time. If we were a
minute late, it would inconvenience another hundred thousand people. The
Bangladeshi people have been absolutely sensational, he said. There is little
doubt that the tour basically saved Bangladesh from a long isolation of hosting
international cricket. It would have deflated the general mood of the country
further but now there is a bit more to look forward to. After all, they have
just defeated England in a Test match. Even the unseasonal heat of November
doesnt seem to bother anyone.

In the first Test against Bangladesh last month, Gareth Batty took four wickets,
went for fewer runs an over than Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, and England won.
http://www.brownsrookiestore.com/Browns-Rashard-Higgins-Jersey/
. For the second Test, England dropped the veteran offspinner in favour of his
Surrey team-mate, the left-arm orthodox spinner Zafar Ansari, who went round the
park some and got only two wickets as England lost by a fair bit. Yet it was
Ansari and not Batty who lined up against India in Rajkot earlier this month. In
England last summer, Batty took almost twice as many first-class wickets as
Ansari. Of course, Ansari is 15 years younger with a long career ahead of him.
As a left-armer, he offers variation to Moeens offspin and Rashids leggies. But
could it be, though, that the England selectors always had Ansari pencilled in
for the India Tests, with an eye on cricket history?England have only ever won
four Test series in India. Each time, a left-arm spinner has featured
prominently. Monty Panesar in 2012-13, Phil Edmonds in 1984-85, Derek Underwood
in 1976-77. Douglas Jardine took two left-arm spinners to India in 1933-44,
Hedley Verity and James Langridge, who took 33 of Englands 58 wickets. Never
since has an England cricket team left for India without a slow left-armer in
their touring party.Batty might have spun the ball more than Ansari in Rajkot,
and offered Alastair Cook more control. He might even have got more wickets. But
he wouldnt have been able to send down the sort of delivery with which Ansari
almost got Cheteshwar Pujara in the first innings. Bowling round the wicket to
the right- hander, Ansari trotted in close to the umpire and the wicket before
leaping out wide in the delivery stride to create an angle and firing one in
towards off stump. As it landed, the ball straightened - not enough to take it
away from the batsman but enough to alter the natural angle of the delivery,
which without the straightening have gone on to leg stump.Pujara, expecting a
bit more turn than there was, played outside the line, was struck on the pad,
and given out by umpire Chris Gaffaney. The decision was overturned using the
DRS, as the ball was found to be bouncing over the stumps, but later in the
innings Ansari dismissed nightwatchman Amit Mishra and Ajinkya Rahane with
similar deliveries.Geoff Miller, who toured with Underwood in 1976-77 and was an
England selector at the time of Panesars series in 2012-13, says that conditions
in India suit left-arm spinners. It will turn out there but not always
straightaway and not every ball, he says. That inconsistency makes the ball that
straightens slightly particularly deadly. If the ball is not spinning, the
left-arm-around angle gives the bowler a chance to beat batsmen on the inside as
well as the outside.Ravindra Jadeja has taken 67 wickets at 18.73 on home
pitches. He doesnt spin the ball that much or that often, but hes always an lbw
threat. Pakistans Abdur Rehman caused England all sorts of problems on similar
pitches, in Dubai in 2012-13. Fourteen of his 19 wickets in that series were
either bowled or lbw.Former England left-arm swing bowler John Lever, who made
his Test debut on the 1976-77 tour, says that when the left-armer bowls wide of
the stumps, the right-hand batsman finds it more difficult to line up the
delivery. The batsman has to decide, late, whether to play or leave, he says. If
it doesnt turn and you leave it, theres a problem.Unlike with offspinners, the
angle at which left-armers deliver the ball means that they dont actually have
to bowl a doosra to cause the batsman an additional problem. The sort of ball
that Ansari got his wickets with in Rajkot, the sort Jadeja bowls and Rehman
bowled, starts off looking like its going to slide in with the arm. On landing,
it straightens marginally or just holds its line. This presents right-hand
batsmen with a confusing set of angles to deal with. Particularly a batsman who
sets himself early against the balls original trajectory, towards leg stump. Or
who, like Pujara against Ansari, plays outside the line, expecting it to turn
away from the bat. These are the sort of deliveries that Kevin Pietersen had
problems with a few years ago.Nine of Panesars 17 wickets in 2012-13, were
either bowled or lbw. So were ten of Veritys and Langridges 33, but only three
of Edmonds and five of Underwoods 1976-77 tally. As Ansari showed when he had R
Ashwin caught at cover on the final evening in Rajkot, as England chased an
unlikely victory, left-armers can get wickets with flight and traditional spin
too.Even when left-arm spinners havent won series in India for England, theyve
still been in the side, pressed into service for India duty. On Englands second
tour to India, in 1951-52, Malcolm Hilton, a left-armer from Lancashire, played
two of his four Tests and took 11 wickets. In 1963-64, England picked Yorkshires
Don Wilson for the first time. A horse for the Indian course, Wilson played only
one more Test, seven years later, against New Zealand. Ian Blackwell went to
India in 2005-06.Regulars Tony Lock, Norman Gifford, Phil Tufnell and Ashley
Giles have also toured India with England.Offspinner James Tredwell, who went to
India in 2012-13 as back-up to Panesar and Graeme Swann, says that left-arm
spinners have another advantage over other types of slow bowlers in that they
tend to bowl the ball into the pitch a bit more, with a bit more pace. Peter
Such, the former England offspinner and current ECB lead spin coach, says that
this is an advantage on slower pitches, like those in India. Underwood, Edmonds
and Panesar could all get the ball through at a strong pace without losing the
ability to spin the ball, he points out.Englands left-arm spinners in their
winning series in India have been both economical and a wicket threat. In
2012-13, Panesar took 17 wickets as England came back from 1-0 down to take the
next two Tests. In the final match, with England needing a draw to clinch the
series, he bowled 52 overs for just 81 runs. Edmonds too was miserly in 1984-85.
In the second Test, in Delhi, where England won to square the series, he sent
down 88.2 overs for just 143 runs (while taking six wickets). During the series,
he went, on average, at 2.11 an over. Underwood, too, kept the runs down when he
wasnt taking wickets. His economy rate, 2.01, was the lowest of all England
bowlers in 1976-77. Deadly would put the ball on the spot all the time, create
pressure, says Lever, who bagged 26 wickets on that tour himself. Underwood
hated going for runs, you could see it in his body language, in his facial
expressions. He was always trying to bowl dot balls. A dot ball is a good ball,
hed say. Last ball of every over had to be a dot ball.Such observes that
left-armers have another way of keeping the score down - bowling over the wicket
into the rough outside the right-handers leg stump. Giles did this to great
effect in 2000-01, much to Sachin Tendulkars annoyance.Tredwell adds that
left-armers can also cause trouble for left-hand batsmen later in the game, when
rough starts appearing outside their off stump from right-arm seam bowlers
following through on the pitch. There arent as many left-arm seamers, so
offspinners spend more time bowling on the good part of the wicket, he says. Not
that this has mattered much down the years. In 49 Test matches spread over 13
tours and 84 years, only 14 left-hand batsmen (of whom only six are recognised
batsmen) have played for India against England in India. The preponderance of
right-handers is borne out by figures from Indian domestic cricket. Of the top
20 all-time Ranji Trophy run-makers, only four are left-handers. Not hugely
surprising, then, that ten of the top 20 bowlers are left-arm spinners. As Such
says, Spinners are more effective when their stock delivery turns away from the
batsman. The left-armers magic didnt work every time for England. Tufnell
struggled in 1992-93, as did all the other England bowlers. Panesar and Ian
Blackwell took five wickets for 383 runs between them in 2005-06, and on the
next tour, Panesar averaged over 50. Even Underwood struggled on the flat,
lifeless pitches that India prepared in 1981-82. Its also worth pointing out
that in all four series in which they were successful, England scored heavily
enough for the sort of attritional approach favoured by their left-arm spinners
to reap dividends.Ansari is very much Englands third spinner. His job is to keep
things steady, in shorter spells, while Moeen, Rashid, and maybe, given the
right conditions, the seamers, threaten Indias batting line-up.In some ways it
will be harder for Ansari to do this than it was for his more illustrious
predecessors. And not just because he is only starting out on his career and is
as yet unproven at Test level, but because cricket isnt such an attritional game
these days and batsmen are adept at finding ways of scoring off even the most
miserly bowler. The DRS might make lbws more likely but it also encourages
batsmen to play with their bat rather than bat and pad. In the past, a stock
ball from a left-arm-round like Ansari, angled into the pads, might have brought
a tentative prod forward, the batsman unsure whether the ball will straighten or
turn. These days, batsmen are more flexible, less patient. If, though, Ansari can
provide England with a solid third spinning option, and along the way snaffle
out one or two Indian batsmen with the sort of awkward delivery that did for
Mishra and Rahane and almost got Pujara in Rajkot, then Trevor Bayliss, Cook and
Co, will be happy. And the legend of the left-arm English spinner in India will
live on.

a 75-64 win on Tuesday night.Junior college transfer Jaleel Wheeler added 16
points and Sterling Taplin and Pat Birt nine each in matchup of two of last
years NCAA Tournament participants which were hit hard by graduation. Tulsa
(2-2) shot 45 percent and outrebounded OSU 38-23, led by Etons seven boards.Tres
Tinkle scored 19 points for Oregon State (2-3), JaQuori McLaughlin had 12 points
and five rebounds and Drew Eubanks added 10 points and five boards.Trailing
37-22 after a tentative first half, Oregon State asserted itself early in the
second, opening with a 17-3 run to pull within 40-39 on a 3-pointer by Kendal
Manuel.Tulsa regained some control with a 7-0 run by Taplin, who made a
3-pointer, a free throw and then a steal and layup to push the lead back to
53-44. OSU kept chipping away and was within four when Etou answered with a
3-pointer from the left corner, then a layup on a nifty assist from Taplin,
giving Tulsa a 67-58 advantage with 2:50 left.I think what we did was we shot
quick shots early in the second half, said Tulsa coach Frank Haith. We got out
of character on offense in the second half. They have good players and they made
some shots, they got their rhythm and they got confidence, but Im proud of how
we bowed our backs and didnt falter.Tulsa opened the big halftime lead despite
using 12 players and changing lineups constantly. Seven players made at least
one 3-pointer in the half, eight scored and Tulsa limited the Beavers to 39
percent shooting (9-23).Im proud of the way we battled back, said OSU coach
Wayne Tinkle. They had 25 free throws to eight for us and had a big edge on the
boards. We played with much more purpose in the second half and thats the waay
we need to play, with passion, energy and purpose.
http://www.brownsrookiestore.com/Browns-Bernie-Kosar-Jersey/.
. I didnt see that in the first half.BIG PICTUREOregon State: The Beavers lost
eight players who had played in a combined 622 games at OSU. Oregon State coach
Wayne Tinkle admitted he peeled a little paint with his halftime and post-game
sermons in reminding his young team of the passion and intensity it needs to
demonstrate on a consistent basis. We were acting way too cool, Tinkle said.
Thats not how you play at Oregon State and these young guys need to learn
that.Oregon State was without guard Stephen Thompson Jr., out with a leg
injury.Tulsa: The Hurricane are replacing 10 seniors and have just five players
who were on the roster last year, including two who sat out (TK Edogi redshirted
and Etou was a transfer from Rutgers). With 10 new players, its all about
practicing, working to get better, Haith said. Weve got some high character guys
who want to work and its showing.NEWCOMERS COME UP BIGNot only did Wheeler score
16 points, but freshman center Will Magnay replaced Edogi and fellow freshman
Martins Igbanu at center for most of the final 10 minutes, making 7 of 8 free
throws down the stretch, grabbing four rebounds and coming up with two
blocks. Its nice to have the three of them and go with who has the hot hand,
Haith said. Will has a big body, knows the game and has a lot of upside. Plus
hell be about an 80 percent free throw shooter. Its good to have him in there
when theyre fouling to get back in the game.UP NEXTOregon State: returns home
for games Friday against Fresno State and Monday against Southern Oregon.Tulsa:
visits crosstown rival Oral Roberts Monday. Haiths teams have yet to defeat ORU
in two previous meetings.

BCCI president Anurag Thakur has said his board will oppose the proposed
two-tier Test system to protect the interests of smaller member nations.
Cheap Air Max 270 All White . As the head of
the powerful BCCI, Thakurs statement lends heft to the criticism of the proposal
by Sri Lanka Cricket and the Bangladesh Cricket Board, even as the boards of
Australian and New Zealand have welcomed the move. The BCCI is against the
two-tier Test system because the smaller countries will lose out and the BCCI
wants to take care of them, Thakur told the New Indian Express. It is necessary
to protect their interests. The proposal to split Test cricket into two tiers -
with seven nations in tier one, and five, including two new Test nations, in the
second tier - was mooted at the ICCs annual conference, in Edinburgh, where ICC
chief executive David Richardson advocated a proper competition structure, with
promotion and relegation, for Test cricket to have greater context. Unless we
can give some meaning to these series beyond the rankings and a trophy, then
interest in Test cricket will continue to waver, Richardson said. The same
applies if we allow uncompetitive Test cricket to take place too often. While SLC
voiced skepticism about the financial model of the two-tier system, the BCB felt
Bangladeshs growth would be affected should they be divorced from the top teams.
We believe that more we play against competitive sides, the better we will get,
BCB vice-president Mahbubul Anam said. If we didnt play against better-standard
sides in ODIs, we wouldnt have come this far. We were given a reality check when
we were promoted to the highest level. I feel that if we go backwards, our
cricket will regress.Thakurs comments seemed to address both concerns as he
spelt out the drawbacks of the two-tier system. In the two-tier system, they
will lose out on a lot, including revenue and the opportunity to play against
top teams, he said. We dont want that to happen. We want to work in the best
interests of world cricket and that is why our team plays against all the
countries. In Galle, meanwhile, Cricket Australia chairman David Peever urged
nations to embrace change and balance notions of tradition with progress.

Usman Khawaja believes Cricket Australias new concussion substitute rule should
be introduced in international cricket, after it was used for the first time in
Fridays Matador Cup elimination final in Sydney.
Dan Marino Jersey .New South Wales batsman
Daniel Hughes was struck by a bouncer from Peter Siddle during Fridays game and
after retiring hurt and being assessed by Dr John Orchard, was ruled out of the
rest of the match. Under the new rule introduced by Cricket Australia in the
Matador Cup and BBL this summer, the Blues were then entitled to activate a
concussion substitute. That replacement player, Nick Larkin, then officially
became part of the playing XI and could have taken full part in the match -
indeed, he was walking to the crease to bat when play was called off due to
rain. However, the ICC has rejected the idea of using concussion substitutes in
international cricket and first-class games, meaning the system will not be in
place for the Sheffield Shield. Its a sensible rule, so yeah I would like to see
it introduced [internationally], Khawaja, who will captain Queensland in Sundays
final against New South Wales, said. But obviously theres a lot of factors that
go into it and Im sure theyll make those decisions. Its good that its taken out
of the players hands because the players dont want to leave and sometimes it can
be dangerous. As players well never [want to] get off ... especially when youre
batting. The concussion substitute was one of the recommendations that emerged
from an independent review into the death of Phillip Hughes in 2014. Ed Cowan,
who was batting alongside Daniel Hughes when he was struck on Friday evening,
said it was time to take such decisions out of the hands of players and rely
entirely on medical advice.I certainly think any playing condition that helps to
improve the safety of players, and takes concussion out of the players hands and
into the medical experts hands, I think is a good thing, Cowan said. The game,
unfortunately, has changed in the last few years. We play a sport where the
danger of the sport is now in the forefront of everybodys mind. As long as the
game is looking to progress in its playing conditions to ensure the safety of
its players, then everyone is happy.Players always want to play. Players play
through all kinds of injuries; soft tissue injuries, broken bones and
traditionally would have played through concussion. But weve gone past that and
I think the players are certainly in favour of the game progressing.Hughes is
considered a chance of playing in Sundays decider at North Sydney Oval, but
there will be no surprise inclusion of Test stars Steven Smith and David Warner
for New South Wales, with the pair being rested ahead of the Test summer. Fast
bowler Josh Hazlewood, who was Man of the Match in the elimination final, will
also sit out as his workload is managed.

West Coast midfielder Andrew Gaff is confident Sharrod Wellingham will bounce
back from last weeks shocker, saying the former Pie will make amends in
Saturdays AFL clash with Collingwood at the MCG.
http://www.officiallionsgear.com/Lions-Nick-Bellore-Draft-Jersey/
.Wellingham committed a series of horror turnovers in West Coatss six-point win
over Melbourne in Perth. His shanked kick-in that gifted Melbourne a goal
infuriated coach Adam Simpson so much that he gave the 28-year-old a spray at
three-quarter time.Wellingham is usually one of West Coasts best ball users, but
the heavy cork he copped late in the first quarter may have affected his
kicking.Gaff said he and his teammates retained full faith in Wellinghams
skillset.Hes one of our bravest ball users, and he tries to do kicks that
probably some guys wouldnt do, Gaff said on Monday. But most of the time they
come off and look great. Then theres days on the weekend when they dont come off
and it probably doesnt look as good. When youre playing in the backline and turn
a couple over, its highlighted a little bit more because its normally in front
of goal. But we know hes going to work pretty hard during the week and make
amends. The Eagles are just four percentage points adrift of second spot
following a five-match winning run.But their form has been scratchy in the past
two weeks, and Gaff admits they were lucky to come away with a win against
Melbourne. The absence of ruckman Nic Naitanui has left a huge void in the
midfield, but the 2012 All-Australian is a chance to return against the
Magpies.Naitanui, who underwent surgery last month to address Achilles tendon
soreness, is back in full training and needs to pull up well from the next few
sessions if he is to be given the green light to face Collingwood. Its 50-50 and
a coachs call as to whether he plays this week or next week, Gaff said.Hes been
flying around in a few of the drills we were doing last week.West Coast lost the
inside-50m count 66-37 against the Demons. The looming return of Naitanui will
help West Coast address a few problem areas, but Gaff said it wouldnt fix
everything.Theres no hiding around were probably not playing our best footy at
the moment, Gaff said.Midfielder Dom Sheed, who has been grounded most of the
year by pectoral and knee issues, is a chance to return to AFL ranks after
making it through his fourth successive WAFL game unscathed.Defender Will
Schofield is also available for selection after being rested last week.

age of 17. She most recently played for Sky Blue FC of the National Womens
Soccer League. "It just felt like it was my time to move on," she said in a
phone interview from her hometown of Burlington, Ont. Adelaide will give two of
their brightest prospects a chance to impress in their AFL clash with struggling
Brisbane. The Crows have named debutant Reilly OBrien to replace injured ruckman
Sam Jacobs on Saturday, while powerful midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen will line up
for the first time this season in place of rested veteran Scott Thompson. Its the
first time fifth-placed Adelaide have added new blood to their side since they
included defender Ricky Henderson in their round seven loss to the Western
Bulldogs. The Crows have opted to rotate through the same group of 27 players,
which are the fewest used by any side in the 2016 competition and a far cry from
the likes of injury-ravaged Gold Coast (39).For players such as Ellis-Yolmen,
who played 11 games in 2015, the Crows hot form and good run with injuries has
proved a major obstacle to senior selection.Adelaide assistant coach James
Podsiadly says the 23-year-olds inclusion against Brisbane presents him with an
opportunity to be considered for the finals. From the match committees
perspective, weve been looking at him all year, Podsiadly said on Friday.Hes
shown some resilience to wait until rouund 20 to get his first game.
http://www.officiallionsgear.com/Lions-Jalen-Reeves-Maybin-Draft-Jersey/.
You can say hes a bit unlucky, but at the same time weve had some good guys in
some good form.We wouldnt pick him if we didnt think he could have an impact in
finals.Breaking into the side has proven even tougher for OBrien.First-choice
ruckman Jacobs had notched up 93 consecutive games - the second-longest streak
in the AFL - before being ruled out for the Brisbane game with a sprained
ankle.OBrien will go head-to-head with another rookie in second-gamer Archie
Smith, who accumulated 30 hitouts and 19 touches in his debut against Port
Adelaide last week.Crows captain Taylor Walker, who was sidelined for a week
with an ankle injury, has also been added for the Saturday night clash at
Adelaide Oval.He replaces rookie forward Mitch McGovern, who will be managed
after playing every game this season. With just two wins to their name this
season, Brisbane could be in for more pain after conceding the highest score of
the year in their 25.23 (173) to 11.13 (79) loss to the Power.

on the command of new Raptors GM Masai Ujiri, the career of future Hall of Famer
Jason Kidd, the future of Lionel Hollins, high expectations for the Pacers and
Bulls as well as the NBA Finals. 1. Masai Ujiri (Raptors): Watched the press
conference on Tuesday. Let there be no doubt, hes in charge - 100 per cent. The
added title of president of basketball operations and how he handled the
questions about the presence of president Bryan Colangelo, as well as their
relationship, said it all to me. Hes his own man and he will make all the calls.
Hes got the bat and the ball. Very clear. 2. Jason Kidd: Wonderful run. Should
be a first ballot Hall of Famer when his time comes. The consummate quarterback
and leader. Made everyone he played with so much better. Outstanding two-way
player. Great lateral quicks as a defender and incredibly quick hands. Would win
a bunch of 50/50 balls and just had the knack for making the big defensive play.
I had a ton of respect for him as a player. 3. Lionel Hollins: Looks like its
over in Memphis for him as the coach. As crazy as this sounds, theyre doing him
a favor. You dont want to be where youre not wanted nor respected. Its pretty
clear that the new Memphis ownership and management has their own ideas on how a
team should be coached. Its their prerogative and good luck to them. Hollins has
grown as a coach and is well thought of in basketball circles by players,
coaches and executives. Hell be fine. Its got to be rough for him to buildd a
team and turn around an organization and basically be shown the door.
Cheap Nike Air Max 270 Blue. Crazy business.
Onward and upward. 4. Pacers and Bulls: Something to really consider in the
Eastern Conference next year. Danny Granger will be healthy for the Pacers. His
scoring and polish would have been a big help to his team. Interesting to see if
they keep him or trade him. Hell have suitors. Derrick Rose will be back with
the Bulls. If that team is completely healthy, watch out. Theyll be the second
or at the very worst third best team in the East. One player can swing the
balance so much in this sport. 5. NBA Finals (Miami in 7): I think the long
layoff will be a challenge for the Spurs to overcome early on in the series. Too
much time off and you lose your mojo. Nothing like playing every other day or,
at the worst, every third day. I think if Miami learns anything from the Pacers
series, its the fact that when theyre totally engaged defensively, like they
were in Games 3 and 7, they are the best team in basketball. Well they better be
because Tony Parker has been fabulous this season and throughout the playoffs.
The Spurs dont wow you with anything that they do but theyre remarkably
efficient and sound. They find a way. The Spurs will find a way to win some
games but, when the defining moments come as they usually do in a series of this
magnitude, my gut tells me that #6 for Miami will have a major influence on
things. Not going against him or his team. Enjoy all the action starting on
Thursday on TSN.

LOS ANGELES -- Brock Stewart has been everywhere this season, starting way down
at Single-A.
Yerry Mina Jersey . Nows he a winning pitcher
in the major leagues. He became the fourth consecutive rookie starter to pick up
a win, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1 on
Wednesday night for their fifth straight victory and a sweep of the three-game
series. Its been a whirlwind, said Stewart, who was hoping someone would give him
the game ball afterward. To get my first win at this level is definitely a
special feeling. The Dodgers started four consecutive rookies for the second
straight week while their battered rotation slowly comes back. Jose De Leon,
Kenta Maeda, Ross Stripling and Stewart combined to go 4-0 with a 2.82
ERA.According to Elias Sports Bureau, it was the first time in franchise history
that the Dodgers won four straight games with a rookie starter getting the win
each time. The last team to do so was Oakland from Sept. 9-12, 2012.All those
young guys have given us quality starts, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. This
is definitely a crash course, a nice immersion in the big leagues. From Single-A,
Stewart made his way to Double-A and Triple-A before getting called up by the
Dodgers. He has a 1.38 ERA in his last three major league games (two starts)
since Aug. 14.Stewart (1-2) allowed one run and five hits in five innings,
struck out one and walked two.I found out I could pitch without my best stuff,
he said. Thats definitely a confidence boost.Yasiel Puig homered and drove in
another run for the Dodgers, who increased their lead in the NL West to a
season-high five games over San Francisco, which lost 6-5 at Colorado. The
Dodgers open a 10-game road trip -- longest of the season -- on Friday against
former manager Don Mattingly in Miami, where ace Clayton Kershaw is set to start
after missing the last two months because of a herniated disk.Kenley Jansen
pitched the ninth for his 43rd save in 49 chances, leaving him one shy of his
career-high set in 2014.Puig homered with one out in the sixth, extending the
Dodgers lead to 3-1.Los Angeles scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom
of the first. Corey Seager doubled into the right field corner, bringing home
Howie Kendrick who had walked and narrowly avoided getting tagged in a
head-first slide at the plate. Puigs sacrifice fly scored Seager, making it
2-1.Arizonas lone run came on Paul Goldschmidts RBI double with two outs in the
first. The D-backs were outscored 18-5 in the series.Arizonas Robbie Ray (7-13)
gave up three runs and two hits in six innings. The left-hander struck out 12
and walked four. Its always nice to strike out a lot of guys, Ray said, but when
you dont get the win it doesnt matter.Clinging to a 3-1 lead, the Dodgers
bullpen squelched threats in the seventh and eighth innings. The D-backs loaded
the bases in the seventh. Reliever Jesse Chavez gave up consecutive singles to
pinch-hitter Phil Gosselin and Jean Segura before retiring the next two batters.
He intentionally walked Goldschmidt and then Grant Dayton came on and struck out
pinch-hitter Rickie Weeks Jr. to end the inning.Deep breath, just trying to
execute pitches, Dayton said. It was a huge moment. In the eighth, Pedro Baez
entered and struck out Yasmany Tomas and Chris Hermann before walking
pinch-hitter Mitch Haniger. He needed six pitches to retire Gosselin on a
groundout to shortstop.TRAINERS ROOMD-backs: C Welington Castillo was scratched
shortly before the game with tightness in his shoulder and was replaced by
Hermann.Dodgers: LHP Scott Kazmir experienced a setback in his rehab start at
Triple-A Oklahoma City and left early with neck and ribcage issues. He will
return to Los Angeles for further evaluation. He threw 33 pitches and gave up a
three-run homer, walked two and hit two batters.CALLING THE `PENThe Dodgers used
eight pitchers, tying a record for a nine-inning game. Three of them faced just
one batter each in the sixth, keeping the bullpen phone busy.We got, what, 28
guys down there, Dayton said. We know its going to ring.SWEEPING UPThe Dodgers
earned their sixth series sweep of the season and first over the D-backs since
June 8-10, 2015. They are 38-15 against Arizona since 2014 and won the season
series (10-5) for the third straight year.UP NEXTD-backs: RHP Braden Shipley
(3-3, 4.94) starts the opener of a three-game home series against San Francisco.
He is 2-0 with a 1.04 ERA in four starts when throwing six-plus innings.Dodgers:
Kershaw (11-2, 1.79) starts Friday for the first time since June 26 after
missing two months with mild disk herniation. He allowed a season-high five runs
and seven hits in seven innings against Miami at home on April 26 in a 6-3 loss.
He struck out 10 and didnt issue a walk. Kershaw is 5-3 with a 2.40 ERA in 10

MINNEAPOLIS -- Yan Gomes found it difficult on Sunday to celebrate the Cleveland
Indians win with his right arm in a sling.
Red Air Jordan

one of three Cleveland homers and the Indians beat the Minnesota Twins 6-1.Gomes
snapped an 0-for-27 hitless skid in the third inning with a double that went off
the foot of Minnesota starter Kyle Gibson and trickled into the outfield through
a hole at shortstop. Two innings later, he was carted off the field with a right
shoulder injury.Running out a grounder, Gomes stepped awkwardly on first base as
he tried to avoid the swipe tag of first baseman Kennys Vargas, who was pulled
off the bag on the throw from third baseman Eduardo Nunez. Gomes landed on his
shoulder as he tumbled to the ground. As far as I know its kind of like a
shoulder separation, he said. Im going to Cleveland to be checked out and well
know more later.Manager Terry Francona said Gomes, who has started 63 games
behind the plate, will end up on the disabled list with a corresponding roster
move forthcoming, most likely a recall of Roberto Perez, who left Triple-A
Columbus game Sunday.Things like this happen, Francona said. Hopefully, youre
prepared so it doesnt get in the way of what youre trying to do.Chris Gimenez
had two RBI off the bench as the division-leading Indians won for just the third
time in eight games.Gimenez replaced Gomes and hit a two-run single in the sixth
for a 4-0 lead. Its extremely unfortunately for the team, for him number one, but
my heart goes out to the guy, Gimenez said. He literally cannot get a
break.Tomlin (10-2), who gave up eight runs -- including a season-high five
earned -- in 4 2/3 innings against Detroit in his previous outing July 6, looked
more like the pitcher that had six straight quality starts before that outing.
He allowed six hits and struck out four against the Twins.Minnesota had two
runners on in the first, but just three over the next four innings as Tomlin
breezed through the Minnesota lineup. He retired 11 straight before Max Kepler
homered in the sixth.I think mainly the offense put up enough runs and just let
me go out there and settle in a little bit, he said. We were able to execute
pitches when we needed to.Gibson (2-6) allowed a season-high 10 hits and four
earned runs in six innings. He struck out four.We were going to see how
aggressive they were going to be, Gibson said. They really showed more patience
today than we probably expected.Napoli homered into the second deck in left
field for a 1-0 lead in the second. It was his 20th of the season -- and second
in three games -- to tie Carlos Santana for the team lead.Three straight two-out
singles by Cleveland in the fifth inning increased the lead to 2-0 when
Francisco Lindors RBI single scored Santana.Tyler Naquin homered in the eighth
and Jason Kipnis in the ninth.TRAINERS ROOMIndians: RHP Tommy Hunter was placed
on the 15-day disabled list with a non-displaced fracture in his lower back.
Cleveland recalled RHP Cody Anderson from Triple-A Columbus to replace him.
Francona said Hunter was carrying his child during the All-Star break and
tripped on a stair, injuring his back protecting the child. Hunter still felt
pain while throwing Saturday and an MRI found the fracture.Twins: General
manager Terry Ryan said 3B Trevor Plouffe, on the disabled list since July 2
with a fractured left rib, is making progress, but theres still some things when
hes sleeping and moving.UP NEXTIndians: Corey Kluber (9-8, 3.61), who earned the
win at the All-Star Game with a scoreless inning, takes to the mound Monday in
Kansas City against the Royals Edinson Volquez (8-8, 4.85). Since June 5, Kluber
is 5-2 with a 2.79 ERA, allowing more than two earned runs just twice.Twins:
Coming off consecutive quality starts, Ricky Nolasco (4-7, 5.22) is scheduled to
be on the mound as the Twins open a three-game series Monday in Detroit. Matt
Boyd (0-2, 5.77) is scheduled to start for the Tigers.

Friday in a California court. CTV Edmonton also says Pocklington gave a $100,000
cash deposit as part of the conditions of his bail, and that he will be out on
bail until his appeal is heard.

Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Alrdridge were again the go-to duo for the Trail
Blazers against the Kings. Kingsmead has provided an assurance that the outfield
issue which caused the first Test between South Africa and New Zealand to be
abandoned earlier this week will not affect any other matches this season.
Durban do not host a match for another five and a half weeks, when South Africa
play Australia in an ODI on October 5, and acting CEO Rajesh Behari insists they
will be ready. We are already hard at work taking measures to ensure that the
condition of the outfield does not impact on both international and domestic
fixtures in the future, Behari said in a statement.Already, ground staff at
Kingsmead have filled the exposed patches with top soil and have fertilised the
field to prompt the grass to grow as they wait for the ICCs verdict after the
outfield was rated poor by ICC match referee Andy Pycroft. CSA had 14 days from
the issue of the report card to respond to it. The ground will then either
receive a warning or a fine up to US$15,000.In mitigation of the state of
Kingsmeads outfield, which was deemed too soft for play on three days of the
Test match, was that Durban experienced unseasonal rainfall of more than 400
millimetres in July and 65mm on the second night of the match. The heavy
downpours meant the outfield was not allowed to settle after it was decompacted
and relaid mid-June, following what CSA said were complaints by the South
African and New Zealand players after limited-overs matches were played there
last winter. It has since been reported by the Mercury that the New Zealand
players did not have an issue with Kingsmead, but only said they found the
Centurion outfield too hard. Both SuperSport Park and Kingsmead had work done to
their outfields in preparation for this series but SuperSport Parks revamp took
place in April and only involved overseeding with winter grass, not digging.
Kinsgmeads happened more than two weeks after Comrades Marathon, which finished
there on May 29, and saw 40 tonnes of sand removed and a new covering laid over
it. It has since been claimed the digging at Kingsmeead was also done too
deeply.
Wholesale Air Jordan 5 Retro. CSA oversaw
both processes. In this statement, Behari said the combination of all the factors
contributed to the abandoned Test. Like CSA he acknowledged that his ground
staff had done everything in their power to deal with the problems with the
softened outfield, but that their role was limited in scope by the match
officials in charge of the Test once the wet outfield complications
developed.Umpires Ian Gould and Richard Illingworth asked the ground staff not
to use any artificial means of drying the surface, fearing the super sopper
would worsen the soggy outfield, and left it to natural sunshine and wind to dry
and harden the ground. There was not enough of either for play to be possible
but those watching from a distance, who saw clear blue skies on television and a
tacky outfield below, were left to questions whether Kingsmead is up to
international standard.Behari is determined to reassure those critics with
pristine conditions for the rest of the summer, in which Kingsmead will host two
ODIs, three franchise first-class games, four franchise one-day cup matches and
five franchise T20 matches. There are no more Test matches scheduled for
Kingsmead this summer but it may come into contention for next seasons Boxing
Day match. We benchmark this stadium by the very best in the world and are
determined to ensure that each and every match and Test matches in particular
are memorable at this venue, Behari said. The only ground to have hosted more
Test matches in South Africa is Newlands and our rich Test cricket heritage here
at is something that we guard unwaveringly. Summer rains are a reality in Durban
and we want to make sure that this ground, which has a good reputation for
drainage and dealing with rain delays, will be in top condition for the upcoming
domestic fixtures as well as the two internationals against Australia and Sri
Lanka.
