Lawrence Thomas knows he will feature in every highlights reel for this A-League season for the wrong reason. http://www.saintsrookiestore.com/Saints-Manti-Teo-Jersey/ .The Melbourne Victory goalkeeper is the one watching and then diving in vain as Tim Cahills 40-metre rocket scorched past him and into the net in this seasons first Melbourne derby. Its a great finish, Thomas told AAP, underplaying the strike just a touch. It was perhaps the A-Leagues best ever goal. The stunning moment had Melbourne City fans screaming, Victory fans speechless, and Thomas himself sprawled on the grass. But the mature 24-year-old gloveman has already accepted it as the goalkeepers lot.And theres no way hell be retreating from his advanced position as a sweeper-keeper when Cahill or any other forward is on the ball, 40 metres from goal.If I cop one of those a season Ill take that on the chin, he said.Nonetheless Ill continue to be in that position.I cut out a lot more balls coming through than I do conceding goals from that position and the ones I cut out are one-on-one chances. While Thomas conceded four on that October night, itd be hard to pin blame for any of them at his feet. And since then, Thomas has formed part of one of the meanest A-League defences.Victory has conceded just five goals in seven games - and one in the last month - to surge to third on the A-League table.Thomas - who was in goal for Victorys 2015 grand final win - said he was feeling confident after starting an A-League season as Victorys first-choice gloveman.I feel like Im having a solid season. Thats the greatest thing about getting a regular league spot, you get a chance weekly to perform, he said.I look back at the goals I have conceded and quite a few of them have been great finishes.Im not happy to concede. I never want to get beaten. But if youre covering certain areas of the goal and people are beating you by off the post and in or top corners, then yknow.A win over City would have Kevin Muscats side in second place with that catch-up game against Wellington Phoenix to come.Thomas said he believed Victorys early-season inconsistency had been banished and a derby day success would cement their resurgence. One week we looked fantastic and the next we didnt turn up, he said. But the last patch of five, six, seven games has been very solid. The inconsistency is gone and were in decent form. Its a massive game and especially for the fans.Coming into Christmas, we have a massive responsibility to send fans home happy. http://www.saintsrookiestore.com/Saints-Terron-Armstead-Jersey/ . The (11-11-4) Jets are seventh in the Central Division with 26 points.  Fifth place Dallas and sixth-seeded Nashville also have 26 points, but the Stars have three games in hand on Winnipeg while Nashville has two.INDIANAPOLIS -- A born and bred Hoosier, Ryan Newman spent his childhood racing everywhere from Anderson to Winchester and every short track he could find in a state mad about racing. He graduated from Purdue and landed a summer job working in Jeff Gordons old race shop in Pittsboro. One of the perks? He got to live in the shop and sleep alongside the cars. And like many Indiana kids, he revered Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the track he first visited in 1986 and later accidentally stumbled upon NASCARs inaugural 1992 test while out buying tires with his mother. A win at the famed Brickyard? That would be a dream come true for the South Bend native. Newman made the boyhood dream a cool reality, taking the checkered flag Sunday to end a 49-race winless streak in front of his home state fans. His parents, who fueled his love of racing and took him to the 500 as a kid, joined him for his biggest win in Indiana. Newman was as cool and collected in Victory Lane as he was on the track when he held off Jimmie Johnson. There were no tears, no quiver in his voice and no need to collect himself as Newman was strangely stoic. "I dont show a lot of emotion, I think everybody knows that," said Newman, who likened the victory to his 2008 win at the Daytona 500. "I had the same emotion, the same thankfulness I did when I won the Daytona 500 because I feel everybody that has been a part of my racing career -- from people that bought my racing uniform, bought me a right rear tire, given us a credit card to get to some race track at some point in my career -- those are the people that helped me get to where I am today. "To me, its awesome to be here at Indy. Its awesome because its my home state. Ive raced go karts at pretty much every go kart track around here, been kicked out of half of them. Those are the things that make it special. I think about those things more than I carry the emotion on my cheeks." So the emotion was seen in father Greg, who spotted for Newman on Sunday, and his mother, Diane. Newman kept it together during his celebratory burnout and the drive to Victory Lane, a hallowed area that he twice had to ask his crew over the radio for directions how to get there. He took the customary ride in a convertible around the track with his wife and two young daughters, and happily bowed again and again to kiss the Yard of Bricks. Sure, he smiled, and shared some tender hugs with one of his daughters. But that was the most anyone was getting out of Newman, who had admitted to getting emotional after winning the pole on Saturday but seemed almost numb following Sundays win. "Im not sure (how I feel) at this point. I know its an amazing feeling," he said. "I was more emotional yesterday after winning the pole than I was two laps after doing my donuts and everything else today. Im not sure why. I took an emotional hit yesterday. Just an awesome day." Newman beat Johnson twice on this Brickyard weekend, first when he set a NASCAR track record in knocking Johnson off the pole in qualifying, then Sunday with a fast final pit stop to snatch the win from the four-time Indianapolis winner. The two were the class of the field -- they combined to lead 118 of the 160 laps -- but it was Johnson who dominated the race and appeared to be just a bit better. But Johnson pitted from the lead with 27 laps remaining and it was a slow final stop for the Hendrick Motorsports crew. Newman pitted after that and took only two tires to move into the lead after the green-flag stops cycled through the field. The closest Johnson would get to him again was when he paid a congratulatory visit to Newman in Victory Lane. The victory comes as Newman is lookinng for a job. http://www.saintsrookiestore.com/Saints-Ryan-Ramczyk-Jersey/. Stewart-Haas Racing has signed Kevin Harvick to join the team next season, and team co-owner Tony Stewart informed Newman two weeks ago he wont be brought back in 2014. It didnt change the post-race mood, as Stewart hustled to Victory Lane, lifted Newman from behind and the two shared a long embrace. "He just had an awesome weekend," Stewart said. "I kept looking up the board and watching and I was scared to ask where he was at and how big of a lead he had. I didnt want to jinx him. Just really proud of him -- hes a great teammate and an even better friend." Johnson, the Sprint Cup Series points leader who was hoping to tie Formula Ones Michael Schumacher as the only five-time winners in Indy history, finished 2.657 seconds behind Newman in second. "Theres definitely disappointment there, but thats racing. It happens," Johnson said. "We win as a team, lose as a team. Theres been some late race mistakes on my behalf that have taken race wins away from us. Granted, not a major event like this. We still ended up second. "We have a lot to be proud of over the course of the weekend. Well do the best to let it roll off our shoulders by tomorrow afternoon." Kasey Kahne, Johnsons Hendrick Motorsports teammate, was third and Stewart was fourth as Chevrolet swept the top four spots. All four cars were also powered by Hendrick Motorsports. "We had pretty good power all day long. There were a lot of scenarios where I noticed how good it was," Stewart said. "Thats what you expect out of the Hendrick engine department. Thats the standard that they set." Matt Kenseth was fifth in a Toyota and followed by Hendricks Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon, as all four Hendrick entries landed inside the top seven. Earnhardt rallied from a loose wheel on the opening run of the race to grab his top-10 finish. "I knew it was loose," said Earnhardt, adding it was a no-brainer to pit. "You have a wheel falling off, you have something serious happening. Come in, its dangerous staying out there. You can hit the wall, or wreck something, or wreck some other people. I dont want to do that. It is a long race. We had an early chance to fix that, and that is fine. It gave us an opportunity to try some different strategies, and it worked out for us." Joey Logano was eighth in a Ford, and followed by Juan Pablo Montoya and Kyle Busch, who picked up his first career win at the Brickyard in Saturdays Nationwide Series race. NASCARs 20th running at the historic Brickyard wasnt the most exciting race -- there were three cautions, for stalled cars or debris, and no accidents or spins -- and the field spread out into single-file racing and passing wasnt easy. Montoya complained at one point over his radio that attempting to pass another car only cost him position on track. "Its just Indy, its always hard to pass," Kahne shrugged. "The competitions close, so you can get runs and then you can kill your run a little bit if that guy runs a certain part of the race track. So the guys that know where to put their car when a car being them is faster, its tough to pass them." The in-race intrigue came via varied strategies among the teams as they all tried different methods to steal a good finish in a race that logged as the fastest Brickyard in history at 2 hours, 36 minutes and 22 seconds. "Overall I thought it was an exciting race," said Kenseth. "I thought there was a lot of different strategies there at the end and the two fastest cars ended up battling for the win. It wasnt any harder (to pass) than normal. Its just always hard to pass here." ATLANTA -- Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade says he hasnt spoken to Heat president Pat Riley since last season ended. Site De Chaussure Air Max Pas Cher .Wade played in Miami for 13 seasons before signing a two-year deal with the Bulls over the summer, which includes a player option. He makes his first return to the AmericanAirlines Arena as a visitor on Thursday as the Bulls face the Heat.I think you guys know, I havent talked to him, Wade said Wednesday. Its as simple as that. I think Ive been very open and honest about my respect and love with Pat. Ive been honest that I havent spoken to him since the season ended. The general thought throughout the league last summer was that Wade would re-sign with the Heat and ultimately end his career in Miami. After contract talks broke down, Wade decided to sign with the Bulls. The 34-year-old said he has communicated with everyone else in the organization besides Riley.I know who Pat is, Wade said. Its no secret to me. I was there 13 years, Ive seen a lot of players come and go. I know how he is. If youre not with him, youre against him. Thats just the way he is. You got to understand that, man. And Im cool with it. Im fine, 100 percent. I was there 13 years so Ive seen a lot of video tributes, seen a lot of players come in and go out. And Ive seen the way hes responded to them. And I know if youre not with him, youre against him.Wade said he wasnt sure whether he would speak to Riley before the highly anticipated game Thursday.I dont know, Wade said. I plan on playing tonight [against the Atlanta Hawks], focus on this game. And then Ill worry about tomorrow at 8 oclock.Wade isnt sure how hell feel when the Heat play an expected video tribute, as they have for other players who have returned after signing elsewhere.I dont know, Wade said. Ive only experienced it from clapping for other guys who came back. Ive always been appreciative of the guys who came back and the tributes they got. I have no idea.LeBron James was very emotional when he saw his tribute, and Mario Chalmers -- the starting point guard on Miamis 2012 and 2013 title teams -- said he was moved by what the Heat did to commemorate his return after a trade to Memphis last year. Its going to be very emotional, that I can say, Chalmers said. With me coming back, I had mixed feelings. The fans welcomed me back, everybody at the arena welcomed me back, but I still had a sour taste in my mouth from how the trade went down ... and Im pretty sure D-Wades going to feel the same way.Wade has remained extremely close with?Udonis Haslem, with whom he shared captaincy in Miami for many years. Hes been in regular contact with Heat coach Erik Spoelstra and continues checking in on some of his former teammates as well.Itll probably be emotional for me, Spoelstra said Wednesday. And then well get to competition, and thats ultimately what its all about.Bulls forward Taj Gibson said Tuesday that Wade has been telling teammates they better be ready to play on Thursday, the second night of a back-to-back and the Bulls third game in four nights.I would love if [the game] wasnt on a back-to-back, Wade said with a smile. I would love if I was able to have a day so I can enjoy my house. Im going to go sleep in my bed for about three hours -- I would love it a lot more. But Im going to take advantage of the moments Im there ... and go out and compete in an arena that I played for 13 years, an environment that Im used to. So its going to be fun from that aspect, but I would love it if the schedule gods would have looked at it a little better and not gave us this on a back-to-back.Information from The Associated Press was used in this report. Now that hes hitting streaking teammates with pin-point passes for easy layups, Love is asserting himself as one of the true superstars in the league. ANDERSON, Ind. -- Four years ago, T.Y. Hilton walked into his NFL first training camp as something of an unknown. Now 26, Hilton returns in a new role -- as the most accomplished receiver on the Indianapolis Colts roster. Hes also the oldest member of his position group and its unquestioned leader.Naturally guys grow into that role and he embraced that role as far as a leader, mentoring the young guys, coach Chuck Pagano said. But really it was by his actions and being here and being present, working his tail off and playing at a really high speed and high level.Hilton had no choice but to grow up fast.He leaned on perennial Pro Bowler Reggie Wayne for three seasons, only to watch him go after the 2014 season. Andre Johnson filled that role last season. Though Hilton clearly outplayed Johnson, inside the locker room the 34-year-old veteran still provided perspective and advice to his younger teammates. When Johnson was cut in March, Hilton inherited his new job as the sage of the receivers meeting room. Its different, Hilton said. But Reggie helped prepare me for it, so I relish the moment.Coaches and teammates have already detected a difference.During the offseason workouts and three-day minicamp, they raved about Hiltons progression. Pagano believes its the best offseason Hiltons had as a pro.Me and T.Y. had that talk about being the veteran guys in the room and what we have to do and how we have to set the tone every day and keep the younger guys going, third-year receiver Donte Moncrief said. Thats the big thing for us, is just keeping the young guys going and keeping their head on right. For Hilton, its a crucial season. After a solid rookie year, Hilton took off. He caught 82 passes in 2013 and 2014 and topped the 1,000-yard mark both seasons. But perhaps no Indy player -- other than Andrew Luck -- faced a more rugged time in 2015 than Hilton. With Wayne gone, Johnson struggling and the Colts unable to run the ball consistently, Hilton became the focal point of everyones defensive game plans even beforee Luck got hurt. Air Max Pas Cher Livraison Rapide. Luck missed nine games with injuries, handing the reins to 40-year-old Matt Hasselbeck, who emphasized the short passing game behind the Colts leaky offensive line. The result: Hilton had to adapt to a new game and a new philosophy that didnt emphasize his deep speed. For the first time his numbers regressed. Hilton finished with 69 catches, 1,124 yards and five touchdowns -- still good enough to make his second straight Pro Bowl. Now that Luck is back at full health, Hilton intends to use his knowledge and skills to become a steadier force in the Colts offense.Hes made a bunch of plays, we all know that, Pagano said. But now its taking the next step. The best news is that Hilton may be working with a better supporting cast.Moncrief made 10 starts and caught 64 passes last year, emerging as a solid No. 2 receiver. Speedy Phillip Dorsett, Indys first-round pick in 2015, is expected to make a bigger impact after playing a minor role early last season and suffering a fractured lower left leg. This year, hes ready to go.The Colts are still looking for help beyond those three. At least they know one thing is certain -- Hilton is the willing and able leader of the pack.Im just approaching it like Im a rookie, just making sure Im writing everything down so when the young guys ask me what theyve got, I know I can help them, Hilton said. I just want to continue getting better and help my guys out in the room.Game notes Its unclear how much -- or if -- Luck will play against Green Bay. Pagano said joking that he might wake up Sunday and make a decision then. ... Pagano said starting center Ryan Kelly (left shoulder) will not play Sunday. ... With James Taylor forced to retire due to a heart condition and Nick Compton solid rather than spectacular in South Africa this winter, spots are up for grabs in Englands middle order. Cheap Air Max 2018 . So just where might the selectors be looking ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Headingley, live on Sky Sports 2 from 10am on Thursday, May 19?Whether the decision-makers want wise old heads or fresh faces, there are a fair few options… Ian Bell Michael Atherton makes the case for Ian Bell to re-join the England test side for the series against Sri Lanka When left out of Englands tour of South Africa, many wondered whether it might be the end of the 34-year-olds Test career, especially as hed pondered his retirement from international cricket following Englands most recent Ashes triumph, the fifth of his career. What else is there for him to achieve? But with the sad news of Taylors enforced exit, suddenly there is a spot open for Bell and he is hungry to fill it, scoring 174 in Warwickshires opening County Championship game of the season against Hampshire. Also, lest we forget, Bell loves batting at five! In the 60 of his 205 Test innings he has batted there, Bell has hit nine of his 22 hundreds - his average of 48.25 bettering his career 42.69.Gary Ballance Ballance and Joe Root could be reunited in Englands middle order Potentially the next cab off the rank is Ballance, who played understudy as the spare batsman for the tour of South Africa. Dropped mid-Ashes last year when struggling to perfect a top-order technique batting at three, a move lower down the order could see him feel considerably more comfortable.Plus, Ballance hardly failed too greatly in his early efforts in Test cricket, scoring 1,194 runs in his first 15 Tests at an average of 47.76, so he would argue he deserves another shot. It could come at five, or perhaps England look to plug him in again at three, with doubts remaining over Compton, a man yet to get going this season.James Vince Nick Knight has called for England to pick Hampshires James Vince at three for the first Test against Sri Lanka Vince is another potential floating option should England choose for a greater middle-order shake-up. Long earmarked for Test success, the 25-year-old is a regular in Englands white-ball squads. Squads being the optimum word, as Vinces role has mainly been that of chief benchwarmer, with just four T20I - albeit impressive - performances to his name, and one rained off ODI against Ireland last summer. While its obvious the management like having him around the set-up, the main hindrance to Test recognition was seemingly a poor 2015 in the County Championship for Hampshire, Vince averaging only 28.58 as he struggled with the step-up from Division Two. But he has started well this year, striking a vital 119 against the reigning county champions no less, having come to the crease with his side 9-1 following Yorkshires mammoth 593-9 declared.Jonny Bairstow Could England pick Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler? Bairstow smashed a first-class career-best 246 in that Yorkshire innings, before smiting 198 against Surrey on Monday. Moving the wicketkeeper-batsman back up to five in the order would free up space for England to bring back Jos Buttler at seven. It would also mean that Bairstow - who had a tricky time of it behind the stumps in South Africa - can give up the gloves and focus solely on batting. It may be that Buttler is still absent from the side for the first Test against Sri Lanka, what with his IPL commitments for Mumbai Indians, but England could still choose to relieve Bairstow of the gloves and perhaps give an opportunity to talented keeper-batsmen like Adam Wheater of Hampshire or Surreys Ben Foakes.Jason Roy Surreys Jason Roy starred for England at the World T20 His place in Englands white-ball sides seemed under threat after a poor series in South Africa with just a combined 120 runs over seven ODI and T20I innings at the top of the order, but he bounced back emphatically at the World T20. Roy smashed 183 runs in six innings, at a strike-rate of 148.78, producing three particularly vital knocks to help England navigate their way to the final.Roy hit 43 off 16 balls in the record run-chase against South Africa, 43 off 39 against Sri Lanka to help book a semi-final spot, and then 78 off 44 in that semi win over New Zealand. His opportunity in Test cricket could come far sooner than expected. Trevor Bayliss is a big fan, and first division cricket this year batting at five for Surrey could be enough to persuade him to plump for Roy. Who would YOU pick in Englands middle order? TORONTO -- One guy has more points over the past five seasons combined than any player in the NHL -- more than Sidney Crosby, Patrick Kane or Alex Ovechkin over that span. The other guy tied the all-time single-season record for wins last season en route to a Vezina Trophy. The third has a Stanley Cup ring and was second only to Drew Doughty as a minutes-eater on his NHL club last season. There they were Wednesday afternoon at Air Canada Centre, Claude Giroux, Braden Holtby and Jake Muzzin?-- representing a combined?$20 million in NHL salaries for the upcoming season -- getting in a skate on a day when the rest of Team Canadas lineup stayed off the ice on the eve of Game 2 of the World Cup of Hockey finals. It is testimony, of course, to Team Canadas mind-blowing depth of talent that it can romp through this event without making those three guys regular members of the lineup.Just as important, though, is how these star players have accepted their situation. Of course, it kills them not to play. Theyre born competitors. But theyre also cognizant of the need to put Team Canada first, and so they have.Obviously we all want to play, Giroux said Wednesday. Thats just in our blood. And we just want to see Team Canada win.Having just missed out on being picked for Canadas 2014 Sochi Olympic team, Giroux was absolutely jacked when he got the call this time around. During the teams pre-tournament camp in Ottawa you could practically see his eyes glow with excitement at the prospect of finally getting his shot. The experience has still been positive, but appearing in just one tournament game isnt exactly what he had hoped for at the start. You dream of playing for Team Canada when youre a kid, Giroux said. You must want to help your country win. Obviously you want to play. Everyone on this team has the attitude that they want to make a difference. They want to be out there to help the team win. Its tough. But Im learning a lot and having a lot of fun here. Both Giroux and Muzzin were original roster members but have since been passed over for playing time by late-replacement additions in Ryan OReilly and Jay Bouwmeester, respectively. But that again speaks to the remarkable depth and plethora of choices with which Team Canada head coach Mike Babcock is blessed.Obviously, you want to be out there. every guy wants to be out there, Muzzin said. But when youre a scratch on one of the best teams in the world, I mean, its an honor just to be here. Its a privilege to be here. You cant really be too angry. Yeah, I want to play and I want to show what I can do and play at this elite level and prove myself at this level, but at the same time our team is full of really, really good hockey players. Thats just how it is.Holtby feels it might have been a little tougher on Giroux and Muzzin because, as he says, there are more moving parts in the lineup with forwards and defensemen. But as one of the teams three goalies, he had a pretty good sense going in that Carey Price would be the starter. It waas probably easier for me because I was a little more prepared for it, Holtby said. Nike Air Max 95 Sale. Its been good. Its been a challenge in some ways, but its been fun. That Corey Crawford has been the backup ahead of Holtby was a mild surprise, just because of the Washington Capitals goalies standout 2015-16 season. But then again, when you consider Crawfords Stanley Cup experience with the Chicago Blackhawks, its kind of a toss-up.Its a pretty big honor just to be named to this team, Holtby said. Its pretty much an all-star team. Its pretty cool that way. I think youre just proud to represent your country. You dont really question it. But you definitely gain a new perspective of guys back on your (NHL) team that are struggling to get into the lineup. Its a tough spot.Giroux, the Philadelphia Flyers captain, echoed the sentiment of having a better appreciation for the players who vie for a lineup spot back home.It helps you understand what guys go through when theyre healthy scratches, Giroux said. Its not the most fun thing. You just got to grind it out and hope for your chance. But being part of this team has been a blast.Giroux is a victim of being on a team loaded with star centers, some of which are Olympic holdovers. Still, this July 17 tweet on NHL point leaders from ESPN NHL analytics guru Rob Vollman underscores Girouxs accomplishment the past half-decade: Its amazing that Giroux can be cast aside, but at the same time, its not all that shocking when you look at the names on the lineup. The talent thats here is pretty surreal, Giroux said. You can see every line is playing well right now -- how Canada finds a way to play a team game even when theres a lot of talent. A lot of guys that can take over a game. Everybody buys in, and its one of the reasons Canada has been successful.Muzzin has just tried to soak in as much as he can from this dressing room of full of leaders and superstars.Seeing the guys in here and how they prepare and seeing the different things that they do, I mean, you learn so much from different guys, said the?Los Angeles Kings?blueliner. And they learn things from you, it goes vice versa. You pick a coachs brain a little bit, you get a different view, you learn a lot. How can you not learn from this experience??A tough task for the three of them is trying to get as ready as possible for the NHL season which is just around the corner.Thats kind of been the challenge, right? Muzzin said. Its strange, because weve been playing hockey for longer, but were almost behind when we get back just because of the situation were in, Holtby said. But in preseason, its not like you play every game. Its a new challenge, but theres still enough time to get ready for the season. All three will go home with memories nonetheless. The whole experience has been great, just being around the guys has been fun, Giroux said.Only on Team Canada. ALAMEDA, Calif. Nike Shox Cheap . -- The Oakland Raiders will have little time to prepare for their biggest game in 14 years. The Raiders (10-2) didnt get much of a chance to savor their sixth straight victory before turning their attention Monday to an AFC West showdown against the Chiefs (9-3) on Thursday night in Kansas City.Instead of taking their usual Monday off for the players, the Raiders were back on the practice field preparing for a rematch with the Chiefs that will play a big part in determining which team wins the division. Were going to be excited to play, coach Jack Del Rio said. Thats how were looking at it. Tough set of circumstances. We dont mind tough things, so were looking forward to the challenge. The Raiders have handled a number of schedule challenges already this season as they are off to their best start since 2000 and poised to end a 13-year playoff drought. They opened the season with three road games with early starts in the first four weeks and won all of them. They spent a week practicing in Florida between road games at Jacksonville and Tampa Bay and swept the trip. They bounced back from an overtime win over the Buccaneers to beat Denver the following week. They won a game in the high altitude at Mexico City and came back on a short week to beat a well-rested Carolina squad. Now comes the trip to Kansas City, where the Raiders will try to snap a four-game losing streak against the Chiefs, including a 26-10 loss at home in October. The physical part, just recovering and getting guys to do everything they can to get back to neutral and feel good, safety Nate Allen said when asked about the challenges of a short week. Even the mental part is big. Something youd have four or five days to study a team, you have two days. Everybody has to go over the top with everything preparing mentally and physically. With the Chiefs already winning once against Oakland, a second victory would give them a potential tiebreaker and mean the Raiders would need help to win the division. An Oakland win would give the Raiders a two-game lead in the AFC West with three remaining. Both teams head into the game on a roll, with the Raiders having won six in a row and the Chiefs taking seven of eight. Both have a penchant for coming from behind this season, with Oakland posting six fourth-quarter comebacks and Kansas City four. The good teams find a way to win and theyve done that as well, Del Rio said. Both teams know what it looks like to win. Should be a great game.Game notes DL Mario Edwards Jr. returned to practice for the first time since injuring his hip in the preseason opener. The Raiders have three weeks to decide whether to activate him from IR. ... S Karl Joseph (foot) is in a walking boot and missed practice but has not been ruled out for Thursday. ... Last years National League Rookie of the Year batted second in the lineup and played three innings in left field before being pulled. Harper hadnt played since May 26 and was put on the disabled list June 2 with bursitis in his left knee. Entering Monday, Harper had missed 25 straight games and 31 of the first 75 this season for Washington. "He looks the same old Harp," said Potomac manager Brian Daubach who also had Harper in Hagerstown in 2011. After having the best record in the majors last season at 98-64, the Nationals have struggled without Harper and are 37-38. Harper wore a knee brace during warm-ups, but it wasnt visible during the game. In Harpers first at-bat he hit a pop-up into shallow left field that was dropped by Myrtle Beach shortstop Edwin Garcia. Harper showed no signs of the knee ailment as he raced around first base and into second for a stand-up double. "The double he hit was a blooper down the left field line and he was flying," said Daubach. "Its as good as Ive seen him run." Moments later Harper was picked off by Pelicans pitcher Blake Schwartz after taking a large lead and failing to slide back in time to beat the throw. "Hes aggressive," Daubach said. "When he got second, looking to take third in a situation with one out, all positive for me." In the third inning, Harper got a late start on Rougned Odors shot into left field. The left fielder recovered to make up ground but the ball bounced over the wall for a ground-rule double. Harpers second at-bat ended after seven pitches with a walk. "I know hes been out awhile, and as you see with most rehab guys, the more at-bats they get they get it back," Daubach said. " But to have the second at-bat be a long at bat and to lay off some good pitches was a good sign." The next batter, Jason Martinson, doubled Harper to third. Again Harpers knee looked fine as he raced around the bases so fast that his helmet couldnt keep up and flew off his head before reaching third. Harper wasnt at third base long as the next hitter, Adrian Nieto, singled him home. Harper, still the youngest player on the team, picked up Nietos bat before crouching down and cheering as Martinson slid home to even the game 3-3. Potomac defeated Myrtle Beach 7-5. Although admitting to not having the final say, Daubach answered that Harper playing six innings on Wednesday "sounds about right. Nike Shox Clearance. ." "After playing for the first time in a while, hopefully he comes back ready to go tomorrow," said Daubach. Harpers appearance with Potomac could be felt early on as long lines were visible outside the stadium as early as two hours before the first pitch. Harpers batting practice also caused quite a scene as more than 100 fans crowded around the cage, while others looked on from the top row of the first-base stands. Many in attendance wore Harpers jersey, while others took pictures trying to get a glimpse of the all-star. Kids chanted his name from atop their fathers necks and teenage girls gave him the rock star treatment by screaming as he was led by police officers back to the dugout after the session. It was the first sellout of the season for the Potomac Nationals. "On a Tuesday night it can get slow around here," Daubach said. "It wasnt the normal Tuesday night for us for sure." Manager Davey Johnson, speaking before Washingtons game against Arizona, said Harper likely wont rejoin the Nationals this weekend when they travel to New York. "I doubt if hell be able to make it that quick," Johnson said, pointing to a series starting next Monday in Washington against Milwaukee for Harpers likely return. "Hell probably do three or four innings tonight, and then, if theres no problem, gradually up it." Outfielder Jayson Werth, who left Sundays game with a strained left groin, was in the Nationals starting lineup against Arizona. The Nationals also placed pitcher Dan Haren on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Sunday, with right shoulder inflammation. They also recalled first baseman-outfielder Tyler Moore from Triple-A Syracuse. Haren underwent an MRI exam Monday, which he said revealed no structural damage, and he received a cortisone shot. "Theres nothing surprising definitely," Haren said. "Obviously, there was a little bit of inflammation and stuff in there. I dont know if thats normal wear and tear, or maybe a little bit more than normal. I got a shot, which is the best way to take out all the stiffness and any inflammation thats in there." The 32-year-old right-hander said he could begin throwing again as early as Wednesday. Signed to one-year, $13 million contract in the off-season, Haren is 4-9 with a 6.15 ERA in 15 starts. On Saturday, he lasted just 3 1/3 innings, surrendering six runs on seven hits in a 7-1 loss to Colorado. Moore is batting .158 with five doubles, two home runs, 13 RBIs, and seven runs scored in 38 games this season with the Nationals. British No. Stan Smith Pas Cher Chine . 4 Dan Evans hopes that his straight sets victory against world No. 40?Grigor Dimitrov on Wednesday will ensure his involvement in Great Britains Davis Cup bid.Victory over Dimitrov earned a place in the Citi Open third round for the world No. 82, who looks to climb even further up the world rankings.Evans missed the Davis Cup victory over Serbia with a shoulder injury, which led to him being replaced by James Ward, but he hopes to return for Septembers semifinal at home to Argentina with British No.1 and World No. 2?Andy Murray also expected to return.Speaking to The Times, he said: Its Leon Smiths [the Great Britain captain] decision, but Id love to play, especially with the next one being at home.It was a great effort against Serbia and its nice that the lads showed that its not just all about Andy.He will face either Lukas Lacko, the world No. 102 from Slovakia, or Jack Sock, the world No. 26 from the U.S in the last eight.Evans had three match points to secure victory at 5-2 in the second set, but Dimitrov saved all three before breaking the Britons serve and then holding his own. However, Evans kept his cool when serving for the match for a second time and won his fifth match point to secure the victory.Gaining ranking points remains top of Evanss priorities, which was the reason behind his recent decision to turn down an opportunity to compete at the Olympic Games in Rio.I know a lot of people think Im mad for not going to the Olympics, but it makes sense for me to get some points, he said.It was a tough decision, but now that Ive got there I need to stay in the top 100.Evans, 26, reached the third round at Wimbledon this summer, beating Alexandr Dolgopolov before losing in straight sets to Roger Federer, but suffered a shoulder injury in the process. Its strange. Nobody knows quite whats wrong, but its getting better, he said. I can still feel it, but I felt good [against Dimitrov] and hopefully it wont affect me anymore. Acheter Stan Smith Pas Cher . LOS ANGELES -- Harrison Barnes believes he still would be a member of the Golden State Warriors if they had won last seasons NBA championship. However, Barnes knew after his exit interview in the wake of the Warriors blowing a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers that he had likely played his final game for the franchise. He described his chances of returning to the Warriors at that point as slim to none, even though Golden State had the right to match any offer he received as a restricted free agent. There were a lot of emotions after a Game 7 loss, said Barnes, who will return to Oracle Arena as a visitor for the first time along with fellow former Warrior Andrew Bogut on Wednesday, when the Dallas Mavericks face Golden State. I think a lot of people were upset, frustrated. And we blew a 3-1 lead. So that was the mindset. I think we knew they were going to blow it up if we lost that series, which we did. I cant say I was surprised.Golden State management informed Barnes during that meeting they would have other priorities in free agency, essentially confirming seasonlong rumors that they planned to pursue Kevin Durant. The Warriors needed to let Barnes leave and move another significant salary in a trade to make room to give the superstar a maximum contract. It was difficult, man, Barnes said. Just because you go back and you watch Game 7 and youre like, Man, its two minutes away from planning a parade or Thank you for your services. It was a pretty big switch. At the end of the day, youve got to put that stuff to the side. I made the decision to go to Dallas. I dont really dwell on that and just move forward. The Mavs signed Barnes to a four-year, $94 million max contract, a move that was questioned by many, considering his pedestrian offensive numbers during his four seasons as a complementary player for the Warriors. He averaged 10.1 points per game during his Golden State stint, including a career-best scoring average of 11.7 points last season. But Barnes has quickly blossomed as a primary option with Dallas, which desperately needs him to be a prolific scorer, since?Dirk Nowitzki?is dealing with health issues. Barnes is averaging 22.3 points per game on 50.8 percent shooting. He already has more 30-plus-point performances for the Mavs (three) -- including consecutive games during the 2-5 Mavs modest winning streak -- than he did for the Warriors (one).Theres a lot more opportunity for me here, said Barnes, who had 31 points on 11 of 18 shooting in TTuesdays 109-97 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Stan Smith Soldes. The offense is different. Obviously, Im not complaining about my role at Golden State, because we won a lot of games doing that. But in the same regard here, theres just more opportunities to do different things.I love it. As a player, you always want to know what you can do. At the end of your career, you can look back and say, look, I was able to get this much out of my playing career and I was able to become this type of player. I think thats what allows you to sleep well at night. Im getting a chance to see and experience and learn. Obviously, we had a rough start, some growing pains. But Im really looking forward to this situation.Barnes acknowledged that it made sense for the Warriors to pursue Durant, whose arrival gave Golden State three of the leagues most explosive scorers, as the 2013-14 MVP joined two-time MVP Stephen Curry and All-Star Klay Thompson.Bogut, who was traded to Dallas in a salary-dump deal, characterized it as an easy decision for Golden State general manager Bob Myers, despite the Warriors winning the 2014-15 title and setting an NBA regular-season record with 73 wins in 2015-16.Look, you get a chance to get one of the best players in the world, you jump at that chance, Bogut said. If Im the GM, you generally jump at that chance.Obviously, we had a lot of success with the group that we had. We understood our roles. We knew our strengths and our weaknesses each way -- individually and how we needed to lift each other up. But obviously, theyre looking to build for the future too. Theyre trying to build it for the next five or six years and not just the next one or two.The Warriors considered Barnes an insurance policy, as he put it, and would have matched the Mavs offer if Durant had chosen to re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Barnes said he considered his exit interview the closing of that chapter of his career. It would have been a little awkward, Barnes said. At a press conference if they would have been like, Yeah, we really wanted him to come [back], no one would really believe that. You know what Im saying? How things went down, like I said, its a business. Its not something you get emotionally hurt about or anything like that, but when you lose and they say, Thank you, were going to go in a different direction, you take that and keep it moving. Before Keshav Maharaj had turned three, Kiran More looked at his palms and predicted: This child will be a cricketer. Cheap Air Max 90 .More was not angling for a career as a clairvoyant, but as a former gloveman and with the knowledge that Keshavs father, Athmanand, was also a wicketkeeper, he must have seen something. As it turned out, it was not the palms that held Keshavs future, but his fingers. Two decades later, Keshav has made a career as a left-arm spinner to fulfill Mores prophecy and his fathers dream.Athmanand played for Natal B during the bad old days when sport was segregated. He knew someone of his skin colour would not be able to challenge for higher honours but immersed himself in the sport anyway. It was difficult for us, but despite the challenges we faced, we managed to produce some outstanding players. We enjoyed the game and we played it hard, Athmanand told ESPNcricinfo. It was a big part of our lives. So big that it consumed Athmanands young son. When Keshav wasnt receiving throwdowns, he was rubbing shoulders with the whos who of the cricket world when South Africa were being welcomed back to the international community. Players like Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Azharuddin and Pravin Amre.In 1992, when India travelled to South Africa for the Friendship tour, Athmanand was among the many friends the players made. Back then, it was commonplace for members of the Indian community to host the visiting team for meals, and the Maharaj home was one that the players visited.More became a family friend and remains in touch. He was the first person to give Athmanand the confidence to believe that a cricket career was possible, albeit not for him. With his playing days behind him, Athmanand worked in education, enjoyed a stint as deputy director general of sport in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province and completed cricket coaching courses, all the while giving his son lessons in the game. Keshav played in the backyard, in the Bakers Mini-Cricket progamme (a developmental sports programme for primary school kids), and at school. He was a left-arm seamer and a decent batsman. One day in the nets, Keshav was mad about something and decided to bowl spin. He told the Sunday Independent that nobody stopped him from making the switch and the new bowling style simply stuck. No one was happier than Athmanand .From my experience as a wicketkeeper, I had learned a lot about spin, so I tried to mould him that way.Keshavs twirling earned him places in a team two age groups above his level and made him a star at Northwood School, the alma mater of Shaun Pollock. By the time he was 18, he had become a regular in the school XI.His father remained his most loyal supporter. I followed him everywhere and kept a scorebook with his performances. I still have it at home, Athmanand said.In 2008, despite making it to the provincial Under-19 side, Keshav was not picked in South Africas U-19 World Cup squad. He confessed to City Press that he was probably a little on the large side, which may have counted against him.Still, he progressed. He was chosen for the South African academy, given a rookie contract at the Dolphins and was on the fringes of the franchise side. Athmanand allowed his son all the time he needed to see if he could carve a career in cricket because he saw in Keshav someone with a good head on his shoulders, who is very focused and very determined in everything he does. He knows exactly what he wants and I told him I would support him in that. But he also advised Keshav to have a plan B. Keshav took up a marketing degree part-time but he honed his plan A. He went to play in the Sussex Premier League in 2013, an adventure that took him away from home comforts and his mothers kitchen.I turned my life around. I lost weight and worked on my fitness, Keshav said. When Keshav returned, Dolphins team-mate Imraan Khan remembers that he looked like a completely different person, with a more diligent attitude towards eating. Cooking became a passion for him. He started a food blog and has been part of cooking shows on the local radio station East Coast Radio .Hes a pretty good cook, Athmanand said. The leaner Keshav enjoyed vastly improved results. In the 2014-15 season, he was sixth on the first-class wicket charts with 36 at 29.38. Last season he was seventh with the same number of wickets at 32.Even though there was a slew of spinners on the South African radar - Imran Tahir, Robin Peterson, Dane Piedt, Simon Harmer and Aaron Phangiso - Athmanand felt Keshav was doing too well to be ignored. There were times when we thought he would get a shot, but with team balance and that kind of thing, we always said that if it came, that would be good and if not, he would just keep doing his thing, because eventually he would get there. Statistics play a very important role.In the first match of this summers first-class season, Athmanand was proved right. Sort of. Keshav got a career-best haul of 13 for 157 to bowl Dolphins to an innings victory over Warriors in East London. But his place in the Test squad had been decided after he took his first wicket in the game. After the second days play, with Warriors on 104 for 1 in reply to Dolphins 478, in which Keshav had contributed a 71-ball 72, he got a phone call.It was Linda Zondi [the convener of the national selection panel], and he just told Keshav, Well batted, and then said that he needs his passport, Ahtmanand said. I told him it might mean he was selected but that he mustnt jump to any conclusions.Over the next two days, Keshav ran through the Warriors line-up, taking six more wickets in the first innings and six more in the follow-on. Then he found out he was going to Australia. He was surprised, but it is also a very well-deserved call-up, said Imraan. Over the last few seasons what he has really worked on is consistency in length and thats what he is so good at. When we have needed a spinner to stop the game, he has done exactly that, but at the same time he has remained an attacking bowler and has always picked up wickets.South Africa are searching for exactly that kind of spinner, especially in a series where they expect the quicks to dominate. Whether that will give Keshav the edge over Tabraiz Shamsi, a left-arm chinaman and the only other spinner in the squad, remains to be seen.Keshavs family members are unlikely to travel to Australia to watch the series because of the time it will take to get their visas and Athmanand is busy getting Keshavs new flat ready for occupation. But regardless of whether he gets the opportunity to watch his son walk out in South Africa colours, Athmanand is ecstatic. It will be fantastic if he gets his first cap, but even if he doesnt on this tour, he has made us all very proud. We know his journey begins now. Authentic Air Max 2017 Sale . Even when youre a fan of one specific major league baseball team, it can be difficult to keep track of all of the news that surrounds your favorite club on a daily basis. Nike Free Pas Cher .However, when youre a fantasy baseball owner and you now have to multiply that effort by 30 in order to be as up to date as possible with each and every club? Its a fools errand that borders on the impossible.Fear not! Well be here each and every week to give you a snapshot of whats going on in the world of baseball, with one fantasy takeaway from each of the leagues 30 teams. Think of it as your one-stop shop for the week ahead. Here are the takeaways for this week, as the second half of the season gets underway:Arizona Diamondbacks: Zack Greinke is not quite ready to return to the Arizona rotation, and will likely miss the first week-plus of the second half of the season. Greinke is currently on the disabled list with a strained left oblique and has yet to throw off a mound, a key step before activation. With extra days off on the slate, the Diamondbacks can go with a four-man rotation for a bit before Greinkes spot has to be called upon.Atlanta Braves: Catcher Tyler Flowers has a fractured hand, the result of being hit by a pitch on July 1. Although he tried to play through the pain, he will likely miss 4-6 weeks as a result of the injury. Anthony Recker has been called up from the minors, but the bulk of the catching duties will likely fall to veteran A.J. Pierzynski. The staffs ERA this season has actually been better with Pierzynski behind the plate, 4.04 compared to 4.57 with Flowers framing the pitches.Baltimore Orioles: Hyun Soo Kim strained his right hamstring on Sunday, and a trip to the disabled list has not yet been officially ruled out by the Orioles. Theyre planning to run the outfielder through some drills today, and if theres any lingering concerns, then its possible that he may have to miss some time. Over his past 13 games, Kim is batting .333 with a 1.00 BB/K rate and seven RBI.Boston Red Sox:?Craig Kimbrel had arthroscopic surgery on Monday to repair his left knee woes and will be out for around 3-6 weeks as a result of the successful procedure. However, with a rehab assignment on the horizon before hell be given a green light to reclaim his closers job, Koji Uehara will likely have to be the ninth-inning answer for Boston into September.Chicago Cubs: Dexter Fowler (hamstring) started a rehab assignment last Friday, but then called it off when he realized he was not going to be ready in time to play in the All-Star Game. Hes getting checked out by the team today, and if he cant immediately get back on the field, hell head back to the minors for a second shot at rehab games. Odds are good, though, that Fowler will be back with the Cubs by Monday at the latest.Chicago White Sox: Justin Morneau had just two hits in his first six rehab games at Charlotte, as he attempts to get ready to make his 2016 debut after signing with Chicago in early June. Morneau then moved to Double-A Birmingham due to Triple-As All-Star break and went 2-for-6 in a pair of games. Expect Morneau to join the White Sox very soon, taking over DH duties from the struggling Avisail Garcia (.130 batting average since June 19).Cincinnati Reds: Trade rumors continue to surround Jay Bruce, who said over the break that the Reds would be doing themselves a disservice if they didnt try to better the organization by trading me and getting prospects. One team that has expressed interest is San Francisco, who has also been linked to Andrew Miller of the Yankees. Cleveland, Kansas City and Toronto are also believed to be in the chase for Bruce, and its beginning to look increasingly unlikely that hell still be in Cincinnati come August.Cleveland Indians: Michael Brantleys long road back to Cleveland is scheduled to move to Akron this weekend. Neither the outfielder, nor the Indians are willing to say when Brantley (torn labrum) will finally be ready to get back into major league action, but with rehab assignments limited to 20 days, common wisdom would indicate that about two more weeks would seem to be a reasonable timetable, if he is to return at all in 2016.Colorado Rockies: Sure, when talking about the Rockies rotation, its always relative, but still, manager Walt Weiss believes his current rotation is the best hes had in Colorado. And the stats do bear this out, with starting pitcher ERA showing improvement each month of the season thus far, from 5.60 in April to 3.98 to date in July. Jorge De la Rosa kicks off a second half on Friday that will see the team play 10 of its next 17 away from Coors Field.Detroit Tigers: The general feeling coming out of Detroit is that the team will not make any deals of significance this season, even as it remains intent on pursuing a playoff spot. The likes of Ian Kinsler, J.D. Martinez and Francisco Rodriguez all have contract situations that might bring enough return in the form of prospects to merit considering a deal, but for a team that tends to use the same lineup day in and day out, they can ill afford to lose any of them and still contend in 2016. Theyre basically stuck.Houston Astros: Despite all the buzz surrounding Alex Bregman, who went 3-for-5, falling only a home run shy of the cycle at Sundays Futures Game in San Diego, he will start the second half of the season in Triple-A. Manager A.J. Hinch said that while the youngster, most likely targeted for third base when he does eventually join the Astros, could indeed help the team down the stretch, he will not be in Seattle this weekend.Kansas City Royals: While the team may not be back at full strength immediately out of the gate this weekend, the Royals do expect to have both Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) and Wade Davis (forearm) back in active service within a week. Cain is eligible to be activated today, but will need some rehab games before jumping back into the Kansas City lineup.Los Angeles Angels: After getting hit on the hand by a pitch, C.J. Cron will miss 6-8 weeks as he recovers from corrective surgery to repair the damage. While Albert Pujols could see a little more time at first base while Cron is out, the Angels did recall Ji-Man Choi from Triple-A Salt Lake to assist at the position. Choi had been hitting .327 at Triple-A, with 27 RBIs in 45 games. Jefry Marte will also see some time at first base.Los Angeles Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw is eligible to return from the disabled list, but will need a little more time to deal with his herniated disc before retaking the mound. While nobody is willing to give a definite timetable, manager Dave Roberts said that his ace would not need a rehab assignment before rejoining the rotation. However, he didnt know yet if the pitcher would be traveling with the Dodgers on their upcoming nine-game road trip.Miami Marlins: Is Giancarlo Stanton due for a bit of a power slump after his stellar performance in the All-Star Home Run Derby? Its always essential for fantasy players to avoid putting too much weight into small sample sizes, but for the record, Todd Frazier his just two home runs in the 23 games after winning the Derby last season. The prior two years, Yoenis Cespedes followed up his back-to-back titles with just three in 18 games, both times. And in 2012, Prince Fielder his just three homers in the first three weeks of the second half. Food for thought.Milwaukee Brewers: Jonathan Lucroy has been the subject of trade rumors before, and will continue to be surrounded by buzz through the deadline or until Milwaukee actually makes a deal. Texas is believed to be interested in the catcher, and as Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports, the Brewers had multiple scouts at a Rangers Rookie League game this week, further adding fuel to the fire that the teams may be cooking up some sort of swap.Minnesota Twins: Im not sure this really qualifies as if it aint broke, dont fix it, but manager Paul Molitor seems to be satisfied with the recent run of success from his rotation headed into the break. Minnesotas starters have a season-best 3.05 ERA and a .222 BAA in July, so hell keep the rotation on track, with Ervin Santana kicking things off Friday, followed by Tyler Duffey, Kyle Gibson, Ricky Nolasco and Tommy Milone, in that order.New York Mets: Noah Syndergaard did not pitch in the All-Star Game, as manager Terry Collins chose to let his right-hander continue to rest his fatigued arm. As of now, the Mets fully expect Syndergaard to be back on the mound against the Cubs on July 19, next Tuesday. However, if he ends up getting pulled early in that game, it would be hard to imagine him avoiding a trip to the disabled list.New York Yankees: World Series home-field advantage to the winner notwithstanding, the results of the All-Star Game really dont mean anything to most of the participants. However, for Carlos Beltran, his ability to get through two innings in right field meant a lot. Beltran, who has been limited to DH duties due to hamstring issues, has declared himself fit to return to the outfield for the Yankees. That opens up the door for Alex Rodriguez to DH more often, as opposed to the platoon situation into which Beltrans injury had forced the veteran.Oakland Athletics: When contract negotiations stalled this spring between the As and Josh Reddick, the two sides were really not all that far apart. However, with the trade deadline looming, and with that gap still not having been addressed, the chances of Reddick being sent packing are strong. Kansas City, San Francisco, the Cubs and Dodgers are all said to be interested in Reddick, but Toronto might also enter the mix. Reddick has hit eight home runs in just 18 career games at the Rogers Centre.Philadelphia Phillies: Could the Phillies have an outfield of Nick Williams, Aaron Altherr and Odubel Herrera by August? Its a possibility. Altherr (wrist) is ready to start a rehab assignment this week, while Williams has hit .283 with 41 RBI at Triple-A. In any event, their presence in the organization has led to speculation that both Cody Asche and Peter Bourjos could be headed out of town via trade before July is over.Pittsburgh Pirates: Gerrit Cole (strained right triceps) got through a pair of rehab starts with flying colors, including a six-strikeout, five-inning, two-hit performance in his last outing at Triple-A. He will rejoin the Pittsburgh rotation on Saturday against the Nationals, slotting in between Francisco Liriano and Chad Kuhl.St. Louis Cardinals: Trevor Rosenthal had positive MRI results, with no tear found in his sore hamstring. That good news means the pitcher should be available out of the bullpen on Friday, and while hes not going to be handed back his closers job just yet, the time off could certainly do wonders towards getting the struggling reliever back on track.San Diego Padres: Drew Pomeranz took the mound at the All-Star Game representing the hometown Padres, but hes not likely to remain with the club much longer. Reports have as much as a third of the league inquiring as to the pitchers availability. The Rangers are one of those teams and San Diego is believed to want to nab Jurickson Profar in any return package from Texas. With so many clubs in the mix on Pomeranz, the price tag is bound to be quite high.San Francisco Giants: Hunter Pence (hamstring surgery) is closing in on a return to the Giants. Manager Bruce Bochy is targeting July 25 as the potential date for getting the veteran outfielder back in his lineup. He may have Joe Panik (concussion) back sooner than that, but the second basemans return depends almost entirely on whether hell get medical clearance from the league.Seattle Mariners: Although he struggled a bit with his mechanics due to rust, Felix Hernandez (calf) got through a rehab assignment on Sunday without any physical setbacks. The King will now pitch for Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, and if all goes well, he is scheduled to rejoin the Mariners at home on Wednesday, July 20 against the White Sox. Mike Montgomery will remain in the rotation until Hernandez returns.Tampa Bay Rays: Neither Hank Conger (.194) nor Curt Casali (.169) have done much at the plate this season, but Casali has been better at throwing out would-be base stealers, so perhaps thats why hes the one who will stick around Tampa Bay for the second half. Conger has been demoted to Triple-A. Either Luke Maile or J.P. Arencibia will get the call to back up Casali before Fridays action.Texas Rangers: Yu Darvish (shoulder) will be back on Saturday, starting for the Rangers against the Chicago Cubs. He threw a successful bullpen session on Wednesday, setting him up to be activated from the disabled list in order to rejoin the team in time for this weekends action. In his last rehab start, Darvish got his pitch count up to 72, so he may be able to work as many as five or six innings his first time out.Toronto Blue Jays: Chris Colabello can return from his 80-game suspension on July 23, and as per league rules, he can participate in minor league games once he gets within 10 days of that date. So, playing for Class-A Dunedin, Colabello went 1-for-3 with a double on Wednesday, as he hopes to do enough over the next week or so for Toronto to welcome him back. However, as he does have options available, the Blue Jays could decide to send him to Triple-A instead.Washington Nationals: Lucas Giolito, who turns 22 today, pitched twice with the Nationals before getting sent back down to the minors on July 8. On Tuesday, he threw with Class-A Hagerstown in order to stay on schedule and allowed two home runs over seven innings, while striking out four. While the performance itself wasnt all that impressive, just the fact he pitched when he did may indicate that the Nationals expect to bring him back to Washington sooner, rather than later. CHICAGO -- An Illinois high school football team that lost a playoff football game because officials made an incorrect call wont be in the state championship contest after a judge on Wednesday rejected its bid to overturn the outcome.Judge Kathleen Kennedy rejected an unusual lawsuit from Chicago suburban Fenwick High School seeking to reverse the Plainfield North High School victory Saturday. Fenwick said it would not appeal the decision. That sends Plainfield North High School to the Class A state title game Saturday against East St. Louis, but none of the parties involved was celebrating.Fenwick led the playoff game 10-7 and had the ball on fourth down on its own 15-yard line with four seconds left. The Fenwick quarterback heaved the ball downfield and used up the time left on the clock. Officials ruled the play to be intentional grounding, a penalty that gave Plainfield North the ball and one more play, which it used to kick a field goal and tie the game before winning 18-17 in overtime. The Illinois High School Association, which governs prep sports in the state, said the call was a mistake. The association apologized to Fenwick, but said there was no way for the school to appeal the outcome through the organization. In her ruling Wednesday, Kennedy cited an association bylaw that says officials decisions are final. The association argued that if Fenwick prevailed it could lead to a flood of lawsuits over incorrect decisions by officials.I wish there was a way that Fenwick could participate in the game, but theres not. Sometimes the law is not fair, David Bressler, an association attorney, argued in court. Nike Free Destockage. Fenwick principal Peter Groom said in a statement: We applaud the Plainfield North athletes and coaches for a well-played semi-final game, and we thank them for their continued sportsmanship and understanding.Plainfield North spokesman Tom Hernandez praised the decision but, in a printed statement, stressed: We reiterate our empathy for our friends from Fenwick High School and their supporters.Illinois association spokesman Matt Troha said he is not aware of a previous case in which a school in Illinois tried to use the courts to change the outcome of a high school sports event. In 2014, an Oklahoma judge declined a high schools request to have a football playoff game replayed after a referees mistake cost the schools team a touchdown. The judge expressed concern about a slippery slope that could lead to future litigation over wins and losses. The association said Wednesday that it will look for ways to try to prevent such problems in future, but it isnt yet clear what that will involve. There is no celebration and there are no winners in this circumstance. It is simply a resolution, the association said in an emailed statement. The Fenwick High School community has been dealt a pair of devastating blows over the past few days, while Plainfield North had a historic moment shrouded in controversy. James Tomlinson, the Hampshire left-arm seamer, has announced his retirement after a 14-year career, saying he feels like the old dog at the back of pack and now is the time to head back to the den. Nike Free Destockage .Tomlinson, 34, played 129 first-class matches taking 382 wickets at 31.92 with a career-best 8 for 46 against Somerset, at Taunton, in 2008. Known for his humorous personality, Tomlinson confirmed his retirement with a colourful statement.I remember years ago watching a nature documentary that followed a pack of wild dogs on a hunt. At the front of the pack there were the young and keen dogs who couldnt wait to get stuck in, then in the middle were the experienced, healthy dogs who knew what they were doing and held the pack together. But I will never forget the image of one old dog at the back of the pack trying to keep up. He had half a leg missing and an ear hanging off from what must have been years of previous battles. When he finally arrived at the scene all that was left were scraps... Although I was once both the young dog at the front and the healthy dog in the middle I feel now is the right time to head back to the den. I now have the opportunity to do just that and look after all the young dogs coming through. A job I already love and cherish. He went on to thank his brothers, Hugh and Ralph, as well as former Pakistan great Wasim Akram who had a spell with Hampshire in 2003 which was early in Tomlinsons career. He also praised Hampshires slip cordon and the Dukes ball used in county cricket, before signing off in light-hearted style. However I would most like to thank the opposition batters who somehow for over a decade missed the straight ones and nicked the half volleys... to you all I will be forever grateful! AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn volleyball team picked up its third-straight victory Sunday afternoon, outlasting Mississippi State in a 3-2 (26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11) win in Auburn Arena. The outcome pushed the Tigers to 11-10 overall and 5-3 in Southeastern Conference play.Mississippi State is an aggressive team that plays great defense so we knew this was a match where we had to stay mentally tough, head coach Rick Nold said. It was a big win and were really happy about the outcome. The Tiger defense put together a solid performance against the Bulldogs, finishing with a season-best 14 team blocks and forcing 39 MSU attack errors. Middle blockers Breanna Barksdale and Macy Reece totaled seven blocks a piece, while freshmen Enija Bidzane and Gwyn Jones added five and four, respectively. Reece & Bidzane each notched a career high in the category, while Barksdale tied a season best.Weve put some good time into our blocking over the last couple of weeks, Nold said. Were not a big blocking team based on our size. But we knew that if were disciplined and take spots away, we would be very successful. The Auburn backrow also has a solid day with 58 digs. Junior libero Jesse Earl picked up her 11th 20-dig performance, having a match-high 24 digs. Classmate Kelly Stewart added eight, while Bidzane finished with seven.Junior setter Alexa Filley did a great job spreading out the Auburn offense and keeping the MSU defense guessing. Reece finished with a season-high 12 kills and Barksdale added 11. Jones finished with 10, while Filley chipped in nine. The Bulldogs (11-10, 3-4) were led by outside hitters Evie Grace Singleton and Emily Hill, having 23 and 18 kills, respectively. Libero Cheyenne Spell had a team-high 17 digs and Jelena Vujcin added 11 kills. Riley Duzenack led all student-athletes with five aces.A pair of kills from Courtney Crable annd a service ace by Barksdale lifted the Tigers to a 7-5 lead in the first and a handful Auburn runs pushed the home squad to an 18-11 advantage. Nike Free Soldes. The Bulldogs came out of a timeout strong and pressed a run to lock the set at 18 apiece and the teams exchanged sideouts the rest of the way. A kill from Barksdale made it 24-all and back-to-back Bulldog errors gave Auburn a 26-24 win.The second set saw the visitors take a 13-9 lead halfway through the stanza. A Bidzane ace and another MSU error tied the set at 16 before the Bulldogs pushed to a 23-19 lead. An Auburn error gave MSU set point and the Bulldogs tied the match at one set each, 25-23.MSU used aggressive serving to jump ahead at 4-2 in the third. Two-straight Bulldog errors followed by a Reece/Jones block elevated Auburn to a 12-9 lead and a pair of two-point Tiger rallies made it 19-12. Another run of tough serving brought the Bulldogs within on at 19-18, but the Tigers were too much as a kill from Reece made it 24-22 and another MSU hitting errors gave Auburn a 25-22 victory.Big blocks from Barksdale/Bidzane put the home squad up 4-1 to start the fourth stanza. The Bulldogs servers responded with yet another long run to give MSU a slight 6-5 lead. A kill from Brenna McIlroy sent Auburn on an 8-2 push for a 15-11 advantage, forcing a Bulldog timeout. However, a handful of small MSU rallies lifted the team to a 22-21 lead and the teams went to the fifth with a 25-22 Bulldog win.A trio of MSU attack errors gave Auburn a 6-2 advantage and more Bulldog errors pushed the Tigers to a 10-5 lead. The visitors came within two at 12-10, but kills from McIlroy and Reece made it match point (14-10) and a hard Bidzane swing gave the Tigers the win, 15-11. Friday gives us a balanced slate, tempered a bit with an afternoon affair in Wrigley Field making the attractive matchup between Jake Arrieta and Adam Wainwright mostly just for viewing pleasure as its off the board in the main DFS contests. Cheap Yeezy Shoes Online . Chances to qualify for the big DFS tournaments and live events are waning while its crunch time in head-to-head leagues as clubs battle to make the playoff or improve seeding. Theres something for everyone in Fridays Daily Notes.PitchingEliteStephen Strasburg is in a great spot to add to his potential Cy Young resume as the Atlanta Braves visit Nationals Park. The right-hander will no doubt rank up goodly whiffs because thats what he does, just keep in mind the Braves may tote a weak offense but they dont fan excessively. This renders the Washington Nationals co-ace much better for DFS cash play than tournament action. As mentioned in the introduction, the Chicago Cubs host the St. Louis Cardinals in the standard Friday matinee. Its worth noting the Redbirds are uncharacteristically striking out at an elevated pace versus fright-handers the past month.Chris Archer has rewarded his patient seasonal owners as hes picked up the pace significantly the past month or so. The final numbers will still be disappointing, but if you cut bait on Archer, you missed out on a second half stretch of seven starts, spanning 45 1/3 innings with a respectable 3.18 ERA and sparkling 1.01 WHIP plus 51 punch puts to boot. Archer will be on the hill for Alex Rodriguezs last game in pinstripes as the Tampa Bay Rays head to the Bronx for a weekend set. Despite some veteran lefty swingers with a solid track record, the New York Yankees have not fared well versus righties while Archers offense has smacked southpaws around. With CC Sabathia on the hill for the home team, Archer is in great shape for a solid game with decent run support, making him a GPP option even on the road in a hitters park.David Price continues to be one of the more frustrating pitchers to analyze, let alone own in all of fantasy baseball. His whiff and walk rates are nearly identical to last season where he boasted a 2.45 ERA, albeit artificially low as suggested by a 2.78 FIP and 3.24 xFIP. This season, in part buoyed by a bloated 0.333 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) in tandem with a 14 percent home run per fly ball rate (HR/FB), the Boston Red Sox southpaw checks in with a 4.34 ERA, a bit higher than his 3.41 FIP and 3.28 xFIP. Its interesting to note via xFIP, Price is essentially the same guy as last season. Keep in mind the key to xFIP is normalizing HR/FB, ostensibly tying home run rate to luck. This is where improvements in data collection and analysis will help flesh out the bad luck from bad pitching. Its safe to say Price has been a victim of both. Next up is an interleague tilt as the Arizona Diamondbacks slither into Fenway Park for a weekend visit. The Snakes pound lefties and get to use an extra hitter, but they also fan at an elevated clip versus lefties. Price makes for an intriguing GPP option, with one of the higher ceilings on the Friday card.SolidWhen a Colorado Rockies hurler draws a soft road matchup, the narrative usually involves mentioning their home and away splits. A slightly higher Coors Field ERA side, from a skills-basis, Jon Gray has been just as good, if not better a mile high than when traveling. The 24-year old right-hander will take the hill in Citizens Bank Park to challenge a middling Philadelphia Phillies squad that offers strikeout upside on top of his already impressive 9.4 K/9. Gray is one of the better DFS options in all formats. With the note this start point conveniently begins right after a six-run outing to begin July, Sean Manaea gas spun off six starts featuring a 2.58 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 38 1/3 innings with 34 punch outs. Unfortunately for his seasonal league owners, the Oakland Athletics have not blessed the southpaw with any run support so hes gone winless during this stretch. With the Seattle Mariners sending Ariel Miranda to the O. Co Coliseum hill, Manaea has a decent chance of securing his first victory since June 29.Itll be the classic matchup of strength versus strength as the Texas Rangers host the Detroit Tigers with Yu Darvish taking the ball for the home team. Since returning from the disabled list on July 16, the righty has fanned an impressive 43 in just 29 1/3 frames. Theres some risk but if youre looking to take down a DFS tournament, Darvish could easily register the top points total on the card.Theres only seven hurlers that fall in the solid range with the others not as intriguing for DFS play. As such, well move onto the heavily-populated streaming section where some additional DFS options will be identified. If you want some additional analysis on a pitcher that was left out, or anything pertaining to Fridays schedule, please let me know in the comments or through Twitter to @ToddZola.Streamers There are 18 hurlers, most of which are well below the threshold of 50 percent ownership of ESPN leagues. If youre looking to make up some ground, Fridays a great slate to get a head start before needing to scramble over the weekend.Despite not possessing all that much mustard on his heater, Joe Musgrove has maintained a high strikeout rate. This will be put to the test as the Houston Astros head north of the border to take on the Toronto Blue Jays. The hosts will be without the disabled Jose Bautista but are still dangerous. If youre in a tight ratio battle, its best to look elsewhere but if you need some punch outs, Musgrove is in play for a spot start as well as DFS play.As is often the case when returning from Tommy John surgery, Homer Baileys control and command is rusty. The Cincinnati Reds rightys debut against the San Diego Padres went much better than his follow-up against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bailey draws another weak opponent in the Milwaukee Brewers for his third straight road effort. This is another instance where a buffer in ratios would aid your effort to chase whiffs as the home team fans at a generous 26 percent clip versus righties.Ross Stripling is taking the spot originally intended for Rich Hills debut in blue but the newly acquired Los Angeles Dodgers lefty remains on the shelf with blister issues. Stripling has held the fort when called upon and will face a Pittsburgh Pirates club thats been in a rut, sporting the second worst wOBA versus righties for the past month.A Coors Field affair interrupted a string of solid efforts by Andrew Casher. The July acquisition for the Miami Marlins Is set up to regain some momentum as the offensively challenged Chicago White Sox head to South Beach for an interleague tilt.Logan Verrett has been hit hard, but with a date in Citi Field against the San Diego Padres in tow, the New York Mets right-handers is in play.On paper, Kyle Gibsons pitch-to-contact style plays right into the Kansas City Royals offense but the defending World Series champs are a different unit, one that the Minnesota Twins righty can frustrate. Gibson still wont rack up many whiffs but he should keep run scoring in check and be in play for a win.Well continue a recurring theme as Francisco Liriano will face a Houston Astros club prone to the strikeout, but also capable of sending the Toronto Blue Jays new lefty to an early shower. Lirianos strikeout potential puts him in play for DFS deployment.Well send with Ivan Nova, whose projected Game Score is still being penalized from his time in the Bronx. Nova will almost always be in play at home; Friday hes in play as the Los Angeles Dodger welcome the Bucs to southern California for a weekend set.AvoidAs tempting as it is to add Matt Cain to the avoid list for his encounter with the Baltimore Orioles, the game is on AT&T Park and the San Francisco Giants veteran right-hander has shown ample flashes of mediocrity to still be in play. That leaves Patrick Corbin and his automatic avoid Game Score of 45 as the sole arm too risky to use regardless of the scenario. And even that could change depending on the health of his opponents lead off and clean-up hitter as the Diamondbacks visit Beantown where Mookie Betts and David Ortiz are battling injuries.HittingThe Boston Red Sox and their scuffling but dangerous lineup are in a good spot even if Betts is unable to return as hes nursing a sore calf. Big Papi fouled a ball off his shin Wednesday night and had to be helped off the field but was in the lineup last night. With a southpaw on the hill, he may get the night off so monitor lineups. Dustin Pedroia has assumed the leadoff spot and is likely to stay there even if Betts is back. Xander Bogaerts, Hanley Ramirez and Aaron Hill also enjoy the platoon edge over Patrick Corbin. The Miami Marlins righties are lined up for a big game with Chicago White Sox southpaw Carlos Rodon taking the hill in Marlins Park. Giancarlo Stanton (if active) leads the way with Marcel Ozuna, Martin Prado and Chris Johnson also in play. Stanton missed Wednesdays game with a sore hip but is expected to play after Thursdays off-day.Mike Foltynewicz has big issues with lefty swingers. However, the Washington Nationals top left-hander, Bryce Harper, has missed three straight games so he Atlanta Braves righty ay catch a break. If Harper is back, hes obviously in play, joining Daniel Murphy, Ben Revere and switch hitter Danny Espinosa. The Texas Rangers will square off with Anibal Sanchez. The Detroit Tigers veteran righty has pitched better since returning to the rotation but in Globe Life Park, hes a risk. Platoon splits arent as actionable with Sanchez but the Rangers like to play matchups so their lefties Rougned Odor, Nomar Mazara, Shin-Soo Choo and Mitch Moreland are the prime beneficiaries along with switch hitter Carlos Beltran.Without Jay Bruce, the Cincinnati Reds left-handed brethren lost a chief cog when facing a vulnerable like Jimmy Nelson. However, joey Votto and Scott Schebler remain to take advantage along with Billy Hamilton. The speedster is in an especially great spot since the Milwaukee Brewers starter has been on the bump for 18 successful stolen base tries and is likely to surpass last seasons total of 24.Most likely to hit a home run: Giancarlo Stanton/Marcell OzunaThe culprit will be Rodon. If Stanton is playing, hes the call but if not, his teammate Ozuna will be betrothed with the task. Most likely to steal a base: Billy HamiltonThe question isnt if, but how many bags Hamilton swipes with Nelson on the hill. Ill say three. Cheap Yeezy Shoes Wholesale . As part of a series looking at the mind, body and soul of an athlete, ESPNs Prim Siripipat will speak to various tennis players throughout Wimbledon.LONDON -- It took only 63 minutes for No. 3 seed and former Wimbledon finalist Agnieszka Radwanska to outduel her first-round opponent, Ukrainian Kateryna Kozlova, 6-2, 6-1 on Wednesday. Although rain caused more than a dozen womens matches to be suspended on the outer courts, play on Wimbledons biggest stage continued thanks to a retractable roof that was installed in 2009.In front of 15,000 fans in a packed Centre Court, Kozlova looked tense in her Wimbledon debut. Radwanska, on the other hand, remained calm and focused as she moved Kozlova to all corners of the court with her usual variety of shots. The 27-year-old Polish star was prepared, despite the rain that pushed their match back a day.You know, I was mentally ready to go, Radwanska said after the match. Then, you know, rain. So its always tough, but its the same for both of us.However, when it comes to the later rounds of a Grand Slam, Radwanskas mental game is still questionable -- or, at least a work in progress. In 2012, she reached her first career Grand Slam finals but failed to walk away with her first Wimbledon title, losing to Serena Williams in three sets. Her success that year propelled her to No. 2 in the world, but since then, she has yet to win a major or reach another major final.Radwanska spoke with espnW.com about her approach to her mental game and how she handles the unrelenting pressure that comes with being a top star.espnW: Aga, this is your 11th Wimbledon appearance. Youve reached the finals here before. Do you get nervous at all for your first-round matches?Radwanska: First match is always tricky, but as you say, its so many years here so Im not really that nervous. I think when you play tournaments, its more emotion and adrenaline, so now Im pretty calm.espnW: Youve been on the tour for 10-plus years now. Is there a moment where you ever get nervous?Radwanska: Well, I remember those matches in the beginning that I was really, really nervous. I just couldnt even eat, because I was that nervous. I think experience makes a huge difference so now, its just a usual day and you just go on the court and play.espnW: Experience definitely helps. It also provides thatt confidence and belief in yourself, but do you have any regimen such as visualization or meditation to help keep you calm?Radwanska: Not really. Yeezy Shoes China Wholesale. . Im not really that kind of person to meditate. For me, its just really good to have a good warm-up and just go on court and figure out after a few games what you have to do to win matches. Trying to really stay calm and not really think about what I did wrong. [I just] think, next point.espnW: Youve reached the finals here at Wimbledon, but you have yet to win a major. Do you believe in yourself that you can walk away with a Grand Slam sometime soon?Radwanska: Well, I was close a couple times and even a couple times here [at Wimbledon]. I hope so. Of course, I believe that. I was there and I was playing the last match of the Grand Slam, so why not? I still have a couple more years to try and hopefully it will happen one day.espnW: From a mental perspective, what do you think that next step is in terms of giving you that little push to clinch that major?Radwanska: I think a couple things need to click to win a Grand Slam, to win those seven matches in a row. While every major is different, and every draw is different, you cant really compare one to another. I just focus on this one and well see.espnW: If you had some advice for young athletes out there, what would that be?Radwanska: I get that question so many times. Its never easy to explain what you have to do. ... Its trying to play the same tennis in the tiebreaker as you would in the first game. I think gaining experience and playing a lot of matches [is good] and experiencing a lot of losses. Thats always a good lesson. Even when you dont win the match, its still a good lesson for you so you can figure out what to do next time to win the match. I dont think theres any one tip because its really hard.Prim Siripipat joined ESPN as an anchor in 2011 after spending three years in Miami covering the Dolphins, Heat and Marlins.
